Canon C300 HD Review: Convert Canon C300 4:4:4 4K MXF Files on Mac or Windows

The Canon EOS C300 comes in two versions, one with a Canon EF mount and the other with a PL mount. The sensor is 4K (3840 x 2160) in resolution, with a unique color pattern that produces a very clean 1920×1080 signal. With a native ISO of 850 the camera produces a clean signal all the way up to 20,000 ISO, giving great low light performance. The camera has two CF cards slots and records in 50 Mbps 422 8-bit MPEG2 compression. Video can be recorded to either card, or both at the same time for redundant recording. Video resolutions and frame rates include 1920×1080 at 23.98p, 29.97p and 59.94i fps. Additionally, a true 24p mode is available for those doing film outputs. In 1280×720 mode, frame rates from 1-60p are also available for slow motion.

The Canon C300 is released with plenty of applications where high image quality, extreme portability, and efficient workflow are of the great importance. The Canon EOS C300 shots videos with Canon’s XF Codec – a file-based MPEG-2 compression with an MXF File Wrapper.

What is MXF?

MXF is a video format for the commutation of programme material between servers, tape streamers and to digital archives. Its contents can be a complete programme and complete packages enven or sequences. MXF is self-contained, holding complete content without need of external material.

MXF combines video, audio together with programme data, such as text – together termed essence – along with metadata and loads them into a container. It holds a sequence of video frames, each complete with associated audio, and data essence, plus frame-based metadata.

The Canon EOS C300?s sensor is 4K (3840 x 2160) in resolution, with a unique color pattern that produces a very clean 1920×1080 signal. The Canon C300 also offers multiple recording bit rates, resolutions and variable frame rates to expand creative flexibility, allowing users to work in all kinds of environment.

To get more application from Canon C300, we always need to enjoy videos on other devices or do some simple editing on the video editing tools. But how can we make it come true while most of media players and video editing tools don’t support MXF smoothly work with them? Perhaps you can try UFUSoft MXF Converter for Mac, which can help you convert Canon EOS C300 MXF files to Mac Compatible Formats like ProRes 422(*.mov), Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC)(*.mov), Avid DNxHD, HDV, DVCPRO, MOV(AVC), h.264 MOV for editing software FCP, iMovie, FCE, Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, Kendlive, etc or convert to other common formats such as MP4, WMV, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, AVI, and even H.264 MOV for other usages.
