Venom 02 will be hosting open tryouts for a new 12u fastpitch softball team on Saturday, August 3rd at 4:00pm at Summit High School in Spring Hill, TN. Venom will be led by the senior pitcher from Lipscomb University, Heather Parker. The coaching staff brings years of experience as players and coaches at the travel ball and collegiate level.


Prospective players will be evaluated on fielding, hitting, catching,

pitching, agilities, base running, attitude, hustle and heart.

As coaches, our goal is to field a highly competitive team and teach responsibility, discipline, teamwork and character. Players will be expected to work hard, learn every aspect of the game at an advanced level and have fun doing it. 2001 & 2002 players are welcome.

About the Coach:

During her youth, Heather spent seven years playing travel ball with the Birmingham Vipers. As a high school student, Heather also played for Mortimer Jordan High School, where she assisted her team with a 5A State Championship. In 2009, Heather was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Alabama and an AHSAA State Tournament MVP. In addition, Heather was an NJCAA conference tournament all-tournament selection in 2011 and 2012 and a tournament MVP in 2012. As a player at Wallace State, Heather was a two time All-American, won a Conference Championship in 2012 and assisted her team in a 3rd place finish at the 2012 NJCAA National Tournament. Heather currently holds the senior pitcher position at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
