yes - once I had showered the whole thing seemed quite amusing with the exception of the guy who spat at me - I`m quite shy and I was bullied a t lot at school and that kind of thing still freaks me out -

I think you are right - I`m staying out of the park on weekday afternoons ! - I was only there because my room mate - who would have to be close to dead to skip work - came home sick at lunch time - so I went out to give him some peace and quiet ! I tell you being nice just does not pay !

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Ran a long boring 8 miles Sunday (my longest to date). The thought of getting home and drinking a cold gatorade got me through the last 2 miles. I am ssssllllooooww, but I am doing it! I still can't believe I am actually doing it!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
hey, another midnight run for me tonight.5.40 miles with hills. Great run, I seen a big Doe tonight at the end of my lane. At first seeing those eyes glowing in my head lamp made my heart skip a beat. I really love running at night.
Anyone heard from Joe?
Time for a shower and unwind so I can hit the bed.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Joe is out till tomorrow. Vacation.

I will get the pics on photobucket so I can put some on tonight when I get home. They are cute.

Ran 3.50 last night. It was a good run. A little sore today though. I am going to some stability ball work out tonight. I need a good stretching. HA

Well, last night I finally felt comfortable enough to just run in my sports bra. At first it was a little odd, then I was thankful because it was so hot and it was better than my shirt sticking to me. I figured I have lost 20 lbs, I think I can do this now. HA. Anyway, do you women do this? Just curious. Although, I think I should invest in a black one. HA.

Well, going to get another cup of coffee. Have a good day.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
hey gang, i'm back, seriously this time. i've been slacking off but no more. my half isn't until november, but i will be ready. got in an hour of weights with the trainer and then 3 miles this morning. after next week, i am going to cut my weight back to 30 minutes or only do an hour twice a week instead of three times. i know the trainer won't be happy with me, but whatever.

creative1 - absolutely loved the description of your half. congrats on an awesome job. any updates on the ankle?

corrinabear - congrats on your race. awesome job.

marflair - good luck in your half. hope the weather is good for you.

fit45 - sounds like we've been on the same schedule. all i've wanted to do is sleep, and i skipped several runs. i hope we're both back on track this week. good luck on your half. you'll do great.

jeep - healing thoughts to your ankle.

peg312 - i'm so happy its a short week too. in fact, i should have taken tuesday off.

simonr - september is a new month...so go get some runs in.

ctmama - enjoy your trip to sf. hope you get some runs in.

spicegeek - no more afternoon running for you...in fact, i think you should avoid the park for a few days. i also thought you were going to say the dog peed on you. that would have really made your day.

tommashe - i did an hour and half of hot yoga and it was so nice.

chuck - your midnight runs are inspiring. i think i'd be too scared.

to all the others - sorry, i just posted to people from yesterday or i would have been doing this all day. good runs to all of you.

where's joe?

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Good Afternoon all,

Drug my body out for 8m tempo run in the the pouring rain. I didn't want to go. Would have rathered stayed home and crawled back into bed after dropping DS7 off at school. Pushed myself out the door and said I would do 4. Then I was already wet and really could not get wetter so I finished the da*n run. I feel good about doing it but boy am I hungry.

Have great runs today. Yes push yourself out if you have too. I did. Thanks to all you and your support!!!!!

Corrina

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
creative - take it easy on that ankle - wait until youare fully healed before attempting to run = build back slow and lots of light stretching

Corrina - I do that all the time - tell myself to run a shorter distance and once i`m out there - I usually push myself to run the whole thing

1 hours weights for me today - push ups galore ... what fun !! - my trainer has a new form of torture - push ups with one hand on a medicine ball and one on the floor - but - she did have me do olympic chest presses - that the real hard *** free weight chest press - 3 sets of 10 presses .. 65lb ... not bad for a girl !

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Hi everyone, getting ready to go to town and run my 5 miles. I don't feel like doing it, I'm in a crappy mood. Didn't sleep good last night, the muscles in my legs wouldn't relax, don't know why. I think I may have ran to fast Mon. morning. Plus I feel like a bloated tick, I hate TOM.

Ok sorry for all the negitivity, just needed to vent. I'll make sure to take some PMS pills before I post again. LOL

Spicegeek, gosh that was so funny reading your post. I needed that laugh. Who would have thought we'd have so much adventure on a daily run.

Talk to everyone later.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Been off far a couple of days...got some kind of bug...nausea, dizziness, bathroom issues, etc.

Feel almost human today and went for a 5 miler on the treadmill. I was a little too concerned to try going outside in 90 degree temperatures with still feeling slightly dizzy. The run went pretty well and it definitely made me feel a lot better. My half marathon is in 3.5 weeks and I sure hope being ill for a few days did not mess with my endurance. Only 3 more long runs left as I was not well enough to do a long run over the three day weekend. Instead, I napped and tried to take care of myself.

Here's wishing better health and runs to all.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Good evening Halfers, 11 x 400 intervals today. Weather is somewhat humid, 89 F. Yesterday ran 3 miles with DS10. We were at the park for about 40 minutes and he stayed active the whole time. I really enjoyed the time with him.

Creative- an idea that I maintain about injuries is similar to taking antibiotics. Even if you are feeling better you must continue to finish the medicine. Recovering from an injury is much like taking medicine, once you feel better give some extra time for healing to continue.

Wbertha- glad your feeling better. I hate those illnesses.

Sheila- thank goodness TOM only last a few days!

Corrinabear- good job on getting your run in. I wish it would rain here.

Peg- how exciting to sign up for your fist 5K. You will do fabulous!

Francesca24- good workout today. Keep it up.

Off to the shower, and bed for me.

Good runs,
SM

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers Week of 9/2
Hi Guys,

Appologies for hijacking your thread, but have a query that i'm hoping you may be able to help my with . I'm on week 8 of OHR and looking at what to do next. Am considering going for HH Half marathon. Is this what you are all doing or do you have other plans that you would recommend? Also have any of you gone from OHR to half and have any advice to share?

All being well I will hopefully be starting half marathon training in two/three weeks so hopefully see you then.
