Tomorrow is my 1st day on C25k :-)

I am new to running...yesterday I ran/walked a 5k with my sister - very tough! I wanted to give up half way through but I didn't - it took me 45 min. but I did it and I am proud of myself. I got onto C25k and decided that I am going to run another 5k this time I will train the right way and come out with a better time. Anyone else starting tomorrow or just started have any advice for me. I am 37 and on weight watchers (lost 21.2 so far) I am excited to begin the program.

Good on you!!!
Its a great programme, you're about to start.
Just remember don't be too hard on yourself if its tough.
You can repeat any week you want. its only 1 extra week vs the rest of your running life.
It took me 15 weeks but its better out the other side.
good luck.

Good luck! Obviously you'll do a great job since you've STARTED by doing a 5K! I admire you. I'm trying to decide what 5K I should start with. Based on the calendar, I think it will be either a Halloween- or Veterans Day-related 5K. I'm on W4D2 and while it's going well, I'm not confident I can get through it without repeating weeks!

Thanks! Oh, and one more tip for you - if you haven't found this yet, check out the podcasts! There's a different one for each week and I just finally found them and started using them today. It made a BIG difference in my run - almost like having a running partner!

Good luck! How great for you!

I agree about the podcasts-- they're the best!

I am SO not a runner and was anti-running forever. I am not on week 3 and LOVE IT! :-)

Congratulations. Robert Ullery's podcasts were helpful to me. I never ran and just finished week 7 of C25K. I never thought I could run 2 miles straight. All the best to you.

You get a pleasant little voice telling you when it's time to run or walk. And occasionally some prompters (one more minute, that kind of thing). Up until I found the podcasts, I was using a stopwatch on my runs because I go by time rather than distance. Now I can leave the stopwatch at home, and I just find it easier if those seconds aren't ticking away in my hand. I don't have to think about it - just do it!
