Indiana Mayhem Fastpitch Holding Open Tryouts Last Day! (A few spots remain open)
Sunday, August 11th from 1:00 to 3:00pm
Please arrive 30 minutes early for sign in and warm up. Pitchers and Catchers should plan on staying 30 minutes afterwards. Tryouts are at the Westfield JV Softball Field (322 West Main Street, Westfield)
We are transitioning to an A program over the next two years after two successful years as a "B" program. In particular, we need better pitching and hitting to successfully make that transition. We are seeking "A" players at all positions, but especially need a dominating "A" level pitcher, as well as an "A" catcher, and "A" third baseman. Otherwise, the Mayhem are looking for athletic players who want to work hard and improve their softball skills. We teach the game of softball as it is taught at the college level.
Coach Norwood is a successful 18U ASA/Showcase coach with 5 years of experience at that age group. He has taken teams to Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado, including to the Hall of Fame Classic twice (invitation only for 25 teams around the country). Coach Norwood has sent over 20 players to the college level and is a college level hitting and pitching instructor who uses RightViewPro for video analysis and instruction.
Playing time is earned first in practice and then based on performance in competition. Playing time must be earned throughout the season. The Mayhem organization emphasizes player development and teaches players all aspects of the game. We will practice outdoors in the fall, spring, and summer; and indoors during the winter months. Practices will be twice a week and we will play approximately: 4 Fall tournaments, 5 Winter tournaments, and 7 Spring/Summer tournaments with a Summer World Series.
Indiana Mayhem Fastpitch goals:
Improve Fundamentally every week - both individually and as a team.
Learn how to focus and compete every pitch of every inning.
Have Fun - it's a game!
