How to import Sony HDR-CX240 AVCHD 2.0 into Premiere Pro CS6

The Sony HDR-CX240 makes it memorable with Sony Full HD/60p quality. Capture amazing footage in low light and control, the CX240 allows users transfer and backup everything via Wi-Fi with NFC in just a touch. Users get close to the action with a 27x zoom, wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens and say goodbye to shake with Steady Shot image stabilization. To some degree, it's the perfect starter camera. The video resolution can be 1920x1080/60p (PS) and 60i (FX, FH), as well as1440x1080/60i (HQ, LP) in HD mode. And the CX240 records HD mode video in MPEG4-AVC/H.264 AVCHD 2.0 format, STD mode in MPEG2-PS and MP4 in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264. As to AVCHD format, it is an acronym for Advanced Video Coding High Definition. When you want to open HDR-CX240 AVCHD 2.0 in Premiere Pro CS6, you may have some problems.

You know, HD video files have up to six times the resolution of SD compressed into about the same file size. It’s a heavy compression. And the video codec AVCHD or H.264 codes is actually a finishing codec. When you edit with this it is highly compressed. The computer has to decompress the file before you can even see it on the screen. So when you add edits, transitions, titles and so forth, these put an even greater strain on your CPU. That's why your AVCHD clips stutter and drop frames when you preview in a NLE. Though the newer full-fledged NLEs will edit AVCHD files, they also require powerful, robust computers and cannot handle the Sony 1080P/1080i AVCHD footage well. These make AVCHD so demanding for native editing.

Premiere Pro CS6 is not an exception. A friend once had a lot of trouble processing .MTS files from Sony Cam. She put an hour of these video files (00000.MTS, 00001.MTS, and 00002.MTS) on the PP timeline. And she tried to export the video to any format and the estimated time was 5-7 hours. It's really a waste time thing. That's why there are so many MTS conversion tools, but many guys all still wondering which MTS software for Sony is better? Aunsoft MTS Converter for Mac solves this problem for it can convert andimport HDR-CX240 AVCHD 2.0 to CS6 without rendering processing.
