Rest day, start of a 5 day recovery block.

Legs are a little stiff but amazingly no major ill effects from yesterday's efforts. Glad for that, as it makes me more likely to try another soon. Was somewhat aftraid my legs would be shredded for days.

what a whirlwind of a weekend....Started Friday at baseball kid's game and ended last night at 10PM under lights with other son's game...As for workout yesterday was a beauty....Got on old black beauty in morning...Temp was 55ish with not much wind and plenty o sunshine....Started the chains crankin and was averaging 19MPH for first 4-5 miles...Ended 1/2 way mark at 18.2 after 8.5 miles....Back to town and track toned it into a easy 16-17mph pace..Got to about 13 mile mark at school track..That funny feeling a dead toes gretted run but after 1/2 mile was feeling good and moving...Did a 7:30 first mile followed by a just under 7 minute mile for 2nd and last...Was feeling good and cruised it home for 1 hr+ ride at 17.2mph and the run..Nice workout..Today not much..Scrambling at work...Good day all...#1 Buckeye Fan

Bagged yesterday's long run to let my ankle rest (been bugging me of late) and did a short (12 miles) bike ride. Today a 3 mile tempo run finishing at 7:00 pace. Felt good. First real race of the season coming up in 2 weeks - Cinco de Mayo 5K.

Day one hill repeats. Will do it in metric today. 10k ride down to the base, then 6 x 1k with 1-2-3-3-2-1 gearing. Then 10k home.

Goal is to add a bigger gear every week for the next couple. This is kind of my baby hill, and I need to be able to do it in gear 4 repeatedly before I can graduate to my main hill, which is longer and steeper. If I went out there now I would end up in a sniveling heap after number three in 1st gear.

Enjoy all.

Heat Wave!!!!! It's friggin' tropical here in New England today! Wow!

Rest day for me... 45min on the exercycle at lunch. 9 holes of golf tonight.

DS2 won his baseball opener last night - 6-2. He played catcher. made some great blocks behind the plate and some great throws to second. Three plate appearances: hit by pitch, sacrifice down the first base line for an RBI, and a hard fly to deep left. Not a bad start!

Fabulous day here in New England. Life is Good. Where For Art Thou?

der Kaiser: LOVE that workout. Wish I had a long enough hill like that near me. We've got good hills all over the place, but in order for a good 5 or 10 minute jobby, I'd need to head to NH.

LRR: You father a Jason... a Jason Veritek?

Me...

4 mile leg stretcher early this AM. Tired. Legs loosen by mile 2.

15 mile ride at noon with a guy at work. Very, very windy.

Great day, Multi-poppers!

Ashamed to say only the second ride of year...

18.4 mile beach loop @ 17.6 mph ... New England spring (80F) and windy, so no excuses for not getting out.

Ocean road was strewn w/rocks and debris from last weeks' storms ... Quite a few roadies out (as well as a bunch o' leisure riders) for the day ... Wallis Sands state park was full as well (school vacation week here).

4 mile midday run. Forget spring, let's jump right into summer. It was hot and I was slow. Don't know if I was so slow because I've lost a lot of fitness since my half mary, or if it was due to the heat. The good news is I don't look like a pasty white girl anymore.

Now I'm going to do the core exercises Melonella posted on another thread.

ETA: Isn't Shakespeare one of those who died on his birthday? One of the few things I remember from high school British Lit. class.

Finally made it to the pool and it was closed! Bummer!! Got home and did a 60 minute run instead. Kind of dogged it because of the heat, but I still feel like I put in a good effort.

Cooler temps coming tomorrow, so I guess we'll be back to normal then.

2500-meter swim at lunchtime: straight swim, every 3rd 100 pick up.

Planned ride outside after work. Got to get as much sunshine as I can!

Enjoy the day everyone!

Five days till my first Sprint Tri. I'm ready--sort of.

Great workout Saturday. Jogging, strength training and then a double Brick with 4.1 bike ride and one mile run--at tempo speeds. Felt great, but my hamstring has been bothering me and flared up at the end of the workout--plenty of time to rest it.

2.2 mile jog this morning, some strength training and 15 minute swim at lunch. Felt good--some shoulder pain--plenty of time to rest it.
