Who is racing this weekend?

BuckeyeBoy is tackling the Olentangy Caves Duathalon...The scene of Chief Leatherlip's demise will be filled bikes and runners....2 mile run-11 mile bike- 2 mile run...This is my first with two runs so we will see...Should be fun and weather looks good..Today was humid for 4 mile leg stretcher..That means slower times for me but again should be fun....What's everyone else doing? Re: Who is racing this weekend?
Hey, I am actually racing this weekend. There are not a lot of tri's in my region. This will be the only race prior to IM France. It would be nice to get in a HIM, but not happening. Last year I was able to do a HIM+ (2.5k/110k/21k) and it was a great proof out of nutrition / pacing. Oh well.

Pool sprint 500m / 20kK /~5k. Did this one last year, hopefully I can shave a minute or two. The bike is seriously technical. I used up all the road a couple times and barely stayed out of the hay bales. Two short steep climbs on the bike each of the two laps.

MOJO to all racers!

I know Doug33, Tithers and Sheldon are all doing a 70.3 this weekend.......kick it!

Tithers: This one is to your Mom!

I am doing a Half Mary, just for fun, trained thru it, but weather is looking good, so should be a fun day!

I'm doing a hilly 71 mile bike race against a bunch of kids half my age without jobs.

Me...Virginia Run Sprint. Finally got antibiotics on Monday, so my lungs are considerably clearer. Guess we'll find out Sunday.

Mojo to all fellow racers! Especially GCTers.

Re: Who is racing this weekend?
I might be racing the same duathlon as danaruns if I can convince myself that driving 2 hrs. to a race, spending 3-4 hrs at a race then driving 2 hrs. back home by myself on Mother's Day is good for my marriage, then yes, I'll be racing.

Re: Who is racing this weekend?
1st race of the season for me as well on Sunday

East Grinstead Sprint 500m Swim (Pool) 27Km Bike and 5Km Run

This was the 2nd race I ever did - It will be interesting to see 3 years later how I compare - Although the weather forecast is awful - Lots of Rain and high winds

Good luck to all the rest of you out there putting it on the line - special thoughts to the Florida contingent and especially Tithers and her Mom

Neil

Tackle those Sprint, Tri-peeps... And JR, but the hurt on those young guns. Show 'em a seasoned old one is just as good -- or better!

Re: Who is racing this weekend?
Just an old guy on a 23 pound steel bike. You racing this weekend Thor or taking a little breather after the half iron man? Do you feel beat up? Did you find a disk to mooch for the next one? We are always lending each other fast wheels for races, if you lived down the street from me I'd set you up, stuff just sits around the garage anyways. I always recovered faster from those HIM's than long running races, but I was a younger man, now making the kids pancakes in the morning wears me out.

PH: I would not suggest that race on Mother's Day unless your wife is a SAINT!

Mrs xt and I will be knocking off the dust at the Clemson Sprint Tri this weekend. It will be the first Tri of the year for us. After 2 marathons so far this year I'm ready to get back in the water and on the bike.

Me! Me! Me! My first duathlon and I am askeered!!! Keep wondering why I thought this was a good idea. My hope is to finish and not come in last. That is all I want from this experience. And maybe to see the mighty PH in person!

Good luck to all racers this weekend!!

You'll finish and you won't come in last.

If I do go, look for me.
