Congrats to Julie and Pich for their races!
Alicia: don't worry, we all have our down moments... in the end I consider those weeks as part of the recovery. Maybe that's just why we feel non-motivated sometimes, it might be after training too much for too long. So when's your next race?
Jen: 70 miles, 160 miles? Whoaa... Not sure when (and if) I'll be able to handle anything close to that.... I have the pump and CO2s with me now, but never used them yet, hope that I'll still remember how they work when needed. So tapering gets you crazy?
Julie, I also started riding with the shorts from the tri suit... the padding is much lighter. How far could you go in those ones?
Kymber: those are very nice times for the swim!
I have 3 weeks to my Sprint. The past week and the coming one should've been my hardest for training, but I've been sick since last Monday. And I still am, which makes me real angry. It's supposed to last no more than a week, right? Anyway, this weekend I decided I can't postpone my training plans just because I'm sick, so after an easy swim (it was very hard to breathe) and some weights on Saturday, Sunday I went for my longest ride ever, 25mi (yeah, I know it's nothing for most of you). It was pretty cool, I felt like I was handling the hills better, but I still can't believe it's mid-May and I never had a ride with no winds this year. This time it was up to 20-30mph especially by the beach and on the bridges, and my eyes, nose, mouth were watering from the wind, cold and sickness...
About high speed downhills, someone was saying on a thread that it's all about getting used to. Yesterday I went down twice at 30+ mph and I wasn't so scared anymore, it was very cool, except when some tight turns came up and I know my bike handling skills are not that good.
Ok should go back to bed now... or to the pool, maybe?
