Treadmill conversion question

So the bad news is I gotta do my long run on a treadmill tomorrow. DH is out of town and I got a babysitter for my long ride but out of luck for the run. Gym has daycare so that is where I gotta go. Good new, it's only 75 minutes. The treadmills at the gym don't have min/mile pace on them. I know that 6.0 on the treadmill equals a 10 minute mile. I want to run a 10:30-10:45. Anyone know what setting to put it on.

Re: Treadmill conversion question
Usually the 'mills say it right on it??? Plus, to get the real road conversion place, you'll have to run it at a 1% grade. Otherwise you.re running actually slower than road pace due to no wind resisitence etc. Incline is also better on your knees.

Anyway, don't run the whole thing at a stagnant pace. Do some pace variations to vary the muscle recruitment and get a training effect. Start off at 5.5 or so, then as you warm up vary the pace 10-20 sec a mile every 2 min. It will make the time fly and it's better for you. Add some even quicker intervals in there for fun, then do back down. Also, vary the hill grades up to 2-3% or up to 4-5% for a few minutes at a time.
