Whoo hoo - congratulations John. Terrific job - nailing your goals and having a blast. You are Thor are BOTH ridiculously enthusiastic, and I wish I could train with you guys in person.

Nice going LRR! You met most of your goals and had lots of fun. Can't get much better than that.

You calling me Ridiculous? Huh? Your babble loudly that you are Eggman, you wave your hands and even a foot in the air at me, you even flash me your gut... and you calling ME ridiculous? Harumph...

Awesome job, Eggman.

One more thing for the other folks... this is a tough course. The bike course has some very challenging hills. It is considered fast by no one. And it doesn't end there. The run course is just the same -- tough and filled with hills. Many folks had to walk at least one of the hills.

Congrats! I was there too but didn't get a chance to meet you. I thought I was in the last swim wave just before the Relay Group, don't know that they mixed another age group with the relay too. I finished about the same time as you: 2:52:27... The bike course is really tough so you did very well on the bike!

Re: Ashland Tri RR - 4 out of 5 ain't bad!
I usually carry three bottles filled with GU2O or HEED. (two regular 32oz "disposable" and 1 aero). However, I also prepare 8oz bottles of concentrated GU2O or HEED to mix with COLD water from the bike water stops. Then, at a stop, I chuck the water bottle, empty one of the little bottles into my aero bottle, fill it with water, and then keep the remaining water for washing down Gels. This has worked successfully at both Ironman Frankfurt 2006 and Mooseman 1/2 Ironman 2007. Its much better than using Powder to mix or using a hydrapak (too hot, heavy, and sweaty).

Congratulations on the solid race!! Meeting 3 goals out of 4 is great! I know how you feel about dissapointing run time. You will have a better run next time! Good luck with 1/2IM!!

Nice job LRR. Wait to knock out 4 outta 5 goals. And nice usage of "technicolor yawn" - I too have never heard that phrase before but will be implementing it into my linguistic repertoire.

LRR, way to stomp another local tri. Your racing mentality, your attitude, your approach and your times are truly impressive. I love reading your race reports.

You must be so psyched for the Timberman HIM. C'mon up to NH and stomp my local tri please.
