I can swim!!!!!

Just got back from my first swim lesson. As a kid I did the swim lesson thing at camp and the past few summers I've been doing side stroke while I watch my kids. But, I decided to do a tri so figure it's prime time for me to really learn to swim.

The swim coach got me out in the water and had me warm up a bit with side/breast strokes. Then, she broke free style way down. Had me do a bunch of drills. Finally, she put everything together. I WAS SWIMMING!!!!

Obviously, I'm going to need to get out there and practice. But I can swim!!! She was actually suggesting that I try a fall tri!

That's awesome! I wish I could've found a coach just like that - I wouldn't have waited until this fall to try a tri out myself

Re: I can swim!!!!!
That is so awesome!!! Good for you and keep up the great work.

I never really realized how I took for granted the fact I have been swimming since before I can even remember. I was swimming long before I ever learned how to ride a bike. I'm still waiting to understand cycling though!

So.... what tri is it going to be?!?

Re: I can swim!!!!!
Woo Hoo! Find a good tri to sign up for, then you'll have a goal. You will be so much more excited about it if you have something to work toward.

Carrie- I took all my swim training for granted as well.

That's awesome. I have my first swimming lesson in about 30 minutes. I hope it goes as well as yours did!
