Another Brag Report

I'm so proud of my sister that I just have to share!

Last weekend she raced in the Blackwater Traverse Duathlon in Cambridge, Maryland and qualified for the Long Course Duathlon World Championships. She is one of the most dedicated people I know, and I'm so happy that her dedication has paid off. Team USA is lucky to have her!

Mobius--yep, the race is in Richmond this year, which is part of the reason she really wanted to qualify this year. As a homeschooling mother of 3, having the race in her own backyard was a big motivator.

4boysmom--She's coached by Michael Harlow, owner of Endorphin Fitness. She is also a USAT Level one coach and coaches for EF.

Yay! I'm guessing conditions on the course were absolutely brutal given what things were like around here last weekend, so to qualify for worlds in those conditions is particularly awesome! Tell her a big congrats for me.

BTW...are you all planning to be at the kids tri in Aug? (same place as prior one).

Yea, she doesn't have good luck when it comes to conditions. In her first attempt to qualify in the Spring, that was the day we got that freak snow storm in April. She missed qualifying by one place that day. Then last weekend it was so hot, and the course (same as Eagleman) has no shade. But she toughed it out and got her rewards!

My niece and nephews are planning on the race in August. I think DH and I will be out of town that weekend, so I probably won't make it out. Will your little "Melons" be out there?

Surprisingly, they both said they want to do it, so chances are we'll be there. Definitely thankful that there are such great opportunities around here.
