George's Jog 5K race report w / pics....

A beautiful morning for a 5K race.

The Cecadas are out in full force in our backyard....Eeeewwww! They're everywhere.

This is one of our favorites, however it is the last year for it. This race raised funds for Brain Tumor research and is memory of George Kamberos, his daughters have put on this race for 10 years! A great cause and great race.
Goal today was 21:something and to take home some hardware.

I ran the first mile exactly where I wanted, 6:48. Now I have to keep this pace and save some for the hill at mile 2.25.
2nd mile feels a little long, am I conserving too much? 7:13...... Uh - Oh!!
I make it up the hill with no problems and now to turn it on and finish up. I pass a guy that usually beats me and I still feel pretty good. It feels as if I'm back on pace....
Mile 3.1 ~ 7:36.... for a finish time of 21:39. I ran a 21:34 last year.... hmmmm! I'll take it on a hot morning and coming off a Half on May 20th and a 10K last weekend, both of which I PR'd.

mrsbill finishing... (she's HAWT!)

We saw some friends out there and WOW! mrbill gets a 3rd place in the Old, Fat Guy division!!! Wooo Hoooo....

Now to relax......

Great race and report to both you and Mrs.! Your backyard looks like ours - lots of cecadas! I can't believe how loud they get during the day.

Anyway, congrats on getting some hardware!
