I joined
Nirvana and Mailbox today in running an easy four before my weekend race which is tomorrow. It's my
first half marathon race and even though I didn't train for it or set it as a goal race, I'm still really excited. Over 3,000 runners - so that will be fun. I'm aiming for a 8:30-9:00 pace, although Nirvana thinks I should be able to run a 8:20 or faster! Nothing like a little pressure!!!
It's a sounds pretty hilly - here's a description:
All the infamous hills in the first half of the run, and the second half is all flat, down, and pretty fast...
- The first 2 miles are flat and slightly downhill
- Miles 2-5 are pretty challenging and a steady climb-
- Next 2 miles are series of ups and downs
- Last four miles are flat and fast running.
- There is one gradual quarter mile incline before mile 12
I'll try and get some pictures for my race report...look for the
Helvetia Half Marathon report sometime tomorrow night!
