Monday Sept. 10th

Hope all of you can hang in there for an actual week this time...

Not sure what's going on with practice but I know tomorow is intervals, so maybe something decently hard, but nothing crazy I think. I'm loving this cool weather!!!

Have a great day.

Quick post for me today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

6.5 miles for me. Maybe a second run later in Florida.

Has anyone heard from Addy or Megs? Are they still lurking?

Happy running all.

Re: Monday Sept. 10th
Enjoy the workouts tonight Alex and Apple.

Dave- Nice run this morning.

Well, I'm a little worried after my run yesterday. Supposed to be 17 total, with a 3 mile warmup and 14@ marathon pace. Felt pretty good most of the way, but I fell apart at the end of the 13th MP mile, so I only made it 16 total. It was about 84 degrees with 70% humidity, and I only had one cliff bar on the run, so I'm hoping that all combined to make it harder, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be ready to run that pace for 26 after a taper. Strange thing is, I don't feel sore at all today.
On a positive note- Go Vikes.
Scheduled for 1 easy tonight.

Morning all!!!

Alex and Apple--enjoy your workouts later today!

David--good run!

I've been wondering about Addy and Megs. Megs had just moved into her new apartment last time she posted. Not sure about Addy...

I woke this morning ready to roll. Was supposed to be a rest day, but just couldn't do it... Did my short 4, which felt very good. Took it pretty easy.

3.8m, 34:42, 9:06pace

I fianlly got my ride report posted over in Multisport late last night. Please take a read!!!

Re: Monday Sept. 10th
No running for me yesterday. Since this is a taper week I am only scheduled to do 3 miles today. I have a race this week and next week, but this week is a goal race and next week is more of a fun run. Nice running this morning for those who have been out and to all the rest enjoy the run later or resting. Whatever you do have a great day.

Re: Monday Sept. 10th
Monday = Off day, at least for me.

Actually I need it after this weekend's runs. I did the hard 12.5 on Saturday, then yesterday had a soccer match where I put in 78 minutes in the midfield (just two short sub rotations off in each half). Despite going hard Saturday I was really strong last night, had great pace. I should scored, too, but I hammered a breakaway shot right at the GK. Doh! I had a couple of real dangerous crosses that nearly broke the game open. So close. Anyway we ended up tying 2-2.

Back at it tomorrow with yet another game (my second team), then a 10 mile easy run on Wednesday, hill work Thursday, spinning on Friday and then the big run Saturday...22 miles, the longest long run I will have attempted, that is, aside from the one marathon race I've run.

I was wondering about Addy yesterday myself. It's been a long time since we've heard from her. She does have a blog but I don't remember the address. As for Megs, she surfaces every now and then. I'm sure she'll be back soon.

Apple - glad you got to see the Phils win. They may be teasing us but at least they're keeping it interesting. Better yet you didn't waste your time watching the Eagles (I didn't either).

Apple & Alex - enjoy the workouts!

Dave, 4boys, vashondan - nice runs

Mailbox - write yesterday off as a crappy run. They happen to all of us but usually mean nothing in the long run.

Tonya - hang in there with the taper. I've never been much good at them either.

Gotta go, back to work.

Re: Monday Sept. 10th
Greetings....

Some smoking fast runs here the last few days...nicely done.

7 yesterday with a number of hills and traffic to dodge....3.1 this morning....tough to run when a bit dehydrated and tired yesterday....late nite at the Georgia game the evening before....we played as poorly as i felt....feel great today for whatever reason, even though still a bit tired....

have a good day guys....

Re: Monday Sept. 10th
Hi gang.

I got a bad case of food poisoning (or so I've decided that's what it was) last Thursday night/Friday morning (kicked in just before my run last Thursday but ignored it...kicked my butt that Friday morning though!).

So I couldn't run this weekend

I'm starting to feel better so I decided a nice easy run at lunch would be a good start (and hopeful that it would make me hungry enough to eat something!)

A little over 3 in a pace a little under 10/mile...very happy with that. I just hope things stay where they should & I get some food!
