Wednesday 10/24

Haha, miscount yesterday, so it's actually 11 days from today. I think I can wait though. I got a book to read for next week anyways so maybe I'll get in some good reading.

Have a great run/s today.

Re: Wednesday 10/24
Getting there...
The mile yesterday was much easier and I didn't have to run on my toes too much to keep the pain down.
Woke up this morning with considerably less pain in the quads. I tested them out a little and I can do a full squat without weights, and flex both muscles without excessive pain. Still gonna take it easy the next few days and not go for a "real" run till at least the weekend I think. Still can't figure out why I haven't gotten too down about the race Sunday, but I know I'm going to have some serious motivation once I'm back.

Hope everyone enjoys their runs today.

Re: Wednesday 10/24
Good morning all -

Sorry I have been MIA for few days... Gotta catch up on everyone's reports. Weekend was busy (daughter homecoming dance & family dinner). Ended up taking weekend off from running.

Weather here is still crazy. Ran last night in 73 temps. Made mistake of wearing pants thinking it was gonna get cold and it ended up getting hotter. Ran 4.83 m at a nice slow pace. Hamstring is little sore, so just stretching things out a little. Same muscle tends to act up once in awhile.

Today, rain and chill is suppose to hit pa finally. Will be running in evening again. Post later.

Have great day all and hope all the CA runners are safe.

Ps.. Found out today daughter didn't make the ODP (state) soccer team. bummer. Oh well always next year tryouts.

Hi all,

Ran 4 miles yesterday.

Will be heading off to a friend in some while to training together. I actually always ran alone, so I am curious whether we will be good running partners and whether I will enjoy the run.

Will let you know tomorrow.

Enjoy your day,

Joost

Morning guys,

Sorry I haven't been around the past few days. I've sort of been taking a break from running (and focusing on grad school!) since I'm still sickish and my calf is doing a weird thing. I'll hopefully run at least a bit today!

Have good ones all

Addy

Does anybody here do Yahoo fantasy basketball? My league (which is drafting tomorrow at 7:30 PM central time) is looking for a few more managers. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Re: Wednesday 10/24
No running today, instead I have bike training (computrainer). I'm now questioning the wisdom of a 5 mile tempo run last night... saddle sore and tired legs (

Perhaps I should fit a cruiser saddle, with big springs, on my road bike? Weight isn't a factor on the trainer. It could be a new trend.

School, then an easy 4 for me today. I'll report on it later.

Nirvana, I am in, if it is an auto draft since I am working tomorrow night. Let me know.

Re: Wednesday 10/24
7.7 slow miles this morning before daylight in the rain....cooler and less muggy today, so it was actually good running/slogging weather, other than not being able to see through my windshield-wiperless glasses....my right shin has been bothering me, but strangely, around mile 5 or so, it quit hurting after a huge hill and isn't hurting at all several hours later....who knows....about a ten minute pace this morning, some of it with a co-worker....

Tonya - if you can't do better than 7:34 pace, including forced stops due to traffic, while running on sore legs, how do you ever expect to win one of your races? oh, wait...unlike me, you're a real runner who kicks *** week after week....sorry.

hope everyone else has a really good day.....

It's supposed to be a live draft, but you can pre-rank your players. Still interested?

Re: Wednesday 10/24
Morning!

45 degrees this morning...so I got to try out my new bike jacket!

6 miles to work this morning...a few small issues (my garmin not registering the ride...my mini pump fell off my bike...a minivan almost hitting the cyclist in front of me) but mostly a smooth ride. I think I'll be ok with this bike winter stuff! At least until it hits 0 out

Hope to ride home fast and get a short run in tonight before Blue Man. I'm very excited about going tonight

Addy glad that you're ok, was hoping you weren't getting hit by the fires!
Alex glad you have a happy attitude
Apple oh trust me, the cooler weather is on it's way!
Mailbox take it easy!
Kfuller enjoy it later.
Joost welcome back!
RunAsics I think you'll be alright on the trainer today, unless you're trying to do a speed workout over a 40+ miles...trying to imagine a cruiser seat on a road bike...the seat would weigh at least double the bike!
brown be careful with the shin...if it keeps up might turn into PF and that would be bad.

Have a great day gang!

Re: Wednesday 10/24
Alex--dog gone you!!! I already have two teens driving me nuts. I don't need YOU to add to my stress!!!!!!!

Let's see... it's Wednesday. Fishbowl for me! Was scheduled for a steady 30mins. Asked my coach if I could stretch it out and add toys. Ended up with 1:11 with kick and one arm drills, fins and paddles drills. Oh, and some swimming thrown in for good measure.

Then for a run. Fall is certainly here! 50' and damp. The sky was beautiful. Grey clouds that looked like wrinkled silk. The runs are still running heavily after all the rain we got yesterday. My legs were pretty whipped from the swim/fin drills. Decided to just have fun with the run and not worry about numbers. Until the end, that is... Decided to 'race' the final short mile.

OB 2.59m, 22:39 IB 2.51m, 21:55
overall-- 5.12m, 44:34, 8:42pace

Oh, and that's a 11sec PR over yesterday...

Need to get school started. Three of them are done with science. One of 'em done with math. Need to hand out the rest of the assignments. It's almost cold enough to get the fireplace going. Nuthin' like school in front of the fire!

Hey Guys

Quickie this morning. 3 miles. Felt good. Was supposed to be easy pace but pushed a bit the last two miles.

Lunch date today. Someone I met on the plane back from LA. Report later.
