Paris & Rotterdam Marathons, Sunday 9th April - TV coverage

For extra motivation for your long runs this Sunday, those in Europe can catch back-to-back coverage of the Paris (7.30am GMT) and Rotterdam (10am GMT) Marathons, on Eurosport 1 & 2 cable channels.

Good luck to any Coolrunners running in either of these.

Dang - that's cold, just rub it in that we Americans are not permitted to watch any track or running events on TV. Even Boston and New York have very limited national coverage in the US, and Chicago has NONE!

You'd think that some network (other than Outdoor Life which I do not get in my already-too-expensive cable package!) would decide that televising a few marathons a year would be worthwhile, versus showing bass fishing or infomercials on a Sunday morning.

Two great races, good to see Korir run a good race, pulled away easily in the last mile. He was always going like a winner, but the other two (Kiprop Kirui and debutant Kibiwott - who has the strangest running action I've ever seen) hung in bravely in case he cracked. Athough when you've run sub-2:05, 2:06.xx must be disappointing.
Paris was good, the elite recruiter always seems to put a good bunch together. 2:08 is a little slow for a marathon on that course (faster than London, IMO) but there was a huge group still in it (15+) past halfway.

The amazing thing about Paris is how many people broke 3 hours - 1500+ I believe! 2 friends of mine ran just under 2:57 and they were in 1200+ place. Impressive.

Does anyone have links to the finishing results for Rotterdam? Something that goes past the top 10.
thanks
