Mileage- 0-30 miles, no running at all last 2 months got injured early in training, decided to run it anyway.

First goal-Sub 4

First actual-5:17- don't try to run a marathon after a 2 month layoff.

The first few years i wasn't running much (3-5 m a day, 4-5 days a week) nor was i running well. I was overworked (from running!), never felt very rested. Avg speed was 8:00 mile. When i began training for a marathon, the alternating hard/easy days helped me break out of the constant fatigue and i could run much longer than before, and feel much better afterwards. My marathon training was 5 months.
I did 3:46 instead of 3:30 because i went out too fast (hit the wall hard at 22 miles), and because it was much hillier than expected. Trained on the flat. A few months later i was running a 3:28. A bit hilly but i was more careful and a bit more fit..
