Re: Maine Runners

I am in coastal southern ME, are there any running groups/ people around that meet up to run long or do work outs?  I am in Wells.  I'm tired of running the same roads... alone.

Re: Maine Runners

NEJourney, you can try the Maine Track Club website (www.mainetrackclub.com).  There's a link providing information on group runs, as well as individuals throughout the state that are looking for running partners.

Good luck! The weather looks like it will cooperate. Look forward to reading how it went.

Wow!  I didn't know there was a Maine running thread.  I live in Topsham.  Is anyone going to be running the Irish road rover in March?

I'm not sure where robinson woods is.  Is it near the opening by the ocean?  That's funny I've lived here forever and haven't got a clue!

Hey speedymama!  I'm running the rover in March with my soon-to-be 13 yr old nephew.  Two more weeks!  It will be his first official race - he did the kids K during the Thanksgiving turkey run and loved it!  See you there!

Hey that's great that you're doing that with your nephew!  He'll have a blast.  I'm getting excited about it, and am hoping for warm weather this weekend.  I'll definately be there, just look for the dark haired pregnant chik!!!  I'm 6 1/2 months preggo, so you can't miss me!

Re: Maine Runners

Has anyone here ran the Irish Road Rover 5K before, if yes, how's the course (in terms of hilly or not)?  If we get weather like we're getting today and the next couple of days, it'll be great racing weather.

Re: Maine Runners

Hi elufa!  Here's a copy of the map:

http://home.maine.rr.com/mckeown/Images/roadmap.jpg[/URL" target="_blank">

The eastern prom is going to be a hill, but not a terrible one. When you come back around the loop and head up India Street, that will be a small hill as well, but the course, for the most part, is fairly flat. I realize that the term 'flat' is pretty subjective, depending on your training! !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|border=0!

I'll keep an eye out for you guys!  Speedymama, sounds like I'll be able to spot you easily!     I'm 6'0" and not easy to miss.  I'll have my purple Harvard Pilgrim windbreaker on, so I should be fairly easy to spot as well.  And I'll have a skinny blond kid with me too!  This is my nephew's first race, so our goal is to go the distance without stopping, and to finish.

See you guys on Sunday! !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!
