Boothy - I've signed up for the sportshoe half mary in Oct as well - my first one also.

Speedy, I'm thinking about the B2B as a great training run while I'm working toward the half in Oct - I have to check the date on it though - I know that the Peaks 5miler is the weekend before, and I"m hiking and rafting somewhere right in the middle of it all, so I'm not sure which I'm going to do yet. Whichever one I choose, I'm going to sign my nephew up as well.

Speaking of, my nephew is 13, and I was thinking about asking him to run the half marathon with me, but am not sure if he should be doing such a distance at his age. Any thoughts?

i think a half is toolong for a 13 year old.. maybe look into the relay portion ofit? i don't know if that is the half or the full.. but that might be a good alternative

Hey there Curly did you see my post about corporate track?
We are looking to have 1000 people at this years national relays in Portland in July. I hope you can work something out to join either with a team of your own or as a draftee.

JWM
I do agree with Curly that 13 is a little young and you need to be careful he is in his growth years. It's good to encourage him in running but at this time probably the shorter races are better.

Did anyone do anything interesting this weekend?

Hey Boothy and Curly - thanks for the advice on my nephew and the half. We'll plan to sign up for the Peaks 5-miler instead, and I'll see if I can't rope someone older into the 1/2 with me!

As for this weekend, I went with some friends/family to see "Movin' Out" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston - all eating & drinking and no running. Lots of calories to burn off this week!

How about the rest of you?

Hey everyone the Beach to Beacon is open for registration, and as everyone knows it fills up fast so get registered quickly to ensure your chance to run this year. I am registered and looking forward to running in this great event for the first time.

I am running Charbo's Run (a 5 mile race) this Sunday in Mass and hope to come in under 38 minutes.

Thanks Bob!! I just signed myself, my brother and my nephew up. We'll all have to plan on meeting up before the race! This is my first B2B as well - do any of you who have run it before have any advice for the course? Is the course something that is feasible to run in advance (traffic, road conditions, etc)? I'm looking forward to it!!

Hi everyone
Hope your having a good weekend, the weather is great for sure!
I did my longest run ever on Saturday 9+ 1:27 not bad i feel good it gave me over 20 miles for the week. Today I went for a shorter run 3.5 just over 30 so that was not to bad after yesterdays run. I was a couple of minutes faster the normal.
Almost got hit by a car coming out of a parking lot she stoped and then when I got out front of the car she decided to go....wow close!!!!

What was everyone else doing this weekend?

keep running!!!

I did not have much choice she was coming to the exit and stop like she was letting me by. But when I got out front of the car she started to take off....then she realize an said oh my God. I usually try to go around the back our slow to let them go first!

Thanks

Run safely!!!
