Re: Illinois runners
Hey, Janice. I'm still out here-mostly lurking.

I've been getting in quite a bit of miles, but no immediate plans to race although I am considering the Half Marathon in St. Charles in May, the same day as the pig.

Good luck in Cincy. You did that last year, didn't you?

Hello to all my fellow Illini all over the state.

Hey kids... if you don't count today's 30-degree weather, then spring is here! What races are you planning for the spring?

Back to the top. It's been a while since anyone has posted. Hope everyone is having fun running in this good weather. I have falled off since the track season has started, it takes an awful lot of time. Take care and hope you have following winds. Jim

Re: Illinois runners
We were sinking rapidly, so back at the top for the Land of Lincolners! Hope all are well. I am getting back in the groove and building up my endurance. Really enjoying being by the IPP and also discovering my new neighborhood. Comet, can't help but wonder if any of the runners I say "hello" to on the path may be you!
No immediate plans for me to do any races since the Shamrock Shuffle, but I am sure I will get the bug soon. Happy trails to everyone!

Re: Illinois runners
Hey, Pich. Thanks for rescuing us. I was on the IPP yesterday (Sunday) for a 10 miler around noon. I went up from the south spur, east on the main spur. If you were out there then you would have seen me!

I hope everyone's doing well. All my fellow week-day morning runners have to be loving the lighter mornings.

Good runs to all.

Re: Illinois runners
Back to the top! I hope everyone across this beautiful state is enjoying the spring weather we're finally getting. The prairie path in DuPage Co. has finally dried out and the honeysuckle smells terrific. No races planned other than a VERY local 5K for the Pleasant Hill Elementary School on May 17th.

I hope everyone is doing well. AJM, if you're out there, how was Boston?

Re: Illinois runners
HI Craig, yes I am still around, somewhere.

Boston was not good. Too warm for me, that's one of 500 excuses. (suburn, respiratory problems.. etc.) In a way it worked out well, I ran so slowly that I did not require much recovery time, and I am now try to stay in shape for Chicago.

I am also doing a race on the 17, perhaps it is the same one as you? I am not sure what the race is you are doing, I think I will be on Main st. in Glen Ellyn?

Re: Illinois runners
Amanda: The race I am doing is for the Brain Tumor Society and Pleasant Hill Grade School in Wheaton. You must be doing the Taste of Glen Ellyn. Good luck.

At least you made it to Boston. I'm really happy for you.

Although I won't be doing Chicago this year, I hope to run with you all sometime this summer.

Re: Illinois runners
Okay, this is sad. I am replying to myself.

Where are all the other Illinois runners? Is anyone else doing the Cream of Wheaton next weekend? How about this weather? Let's hope it gets better soon.

Re: Illinois runners
Ok Comet...I didn't want you to feel abandoned! I am doing the Avon walk for Breast Cancer next weekend, so I have been training for that. After that, I am going to get back on a regular running schedule.
I personally like the cooler weather, I am not a hot weather person in the slightest. No complaints from me!
Hope all are well...my next "race" will be the Freedom Four in Glen Ellyn on 7/4.

Re: Illinois runners
Sorry Comet and Pich.

I was on the DL for 3 weeks (post Flying Pig) and have been running now for 4 days. It's a beautiful thing. I ripped off my big-toenail, due to a stubbing, and have been in crazy pain for a while. I pray to god it's over. After 6 today, I'm sore, but happy.
Good luck to you, Pich, with your walk!!!
Love to you all, and happy running! janice
