bump!

Anyone out enjoying the sunshine today? Got a 16 miler tomorrow -- hoping for more of the same weather! Going snowshoeing on Monday.

Enjoy your weekends!

Yup, went for a short 1 hour plus hike down to Wreck Beach this afternoon (strangely enough managed to spot some nudies-I find that odd at this time of the year) and along the beach trails and back up by another trail near Towers Beach and back to rez on campus. Really warm and beautiful day Currently still (and almost) recovering from the half..(it's been 2 weeks) I hope I can start training again tomorrow.

Re: BC Runner's Forum
I was skiing last friday up in Whistler - amazing!
Had a fun time doing the Mardi Gras night run last Saturday in Capilano Canyon, then went for 1 1/2 hours on Sunday morning on the Baden Powell. I was just in Atlanta from Monday to Wednesday, so I was restricted to the pavement near the hotel. The weather was suspiciously Vancouver-like with drizzle & temps in around 9c. Good to be home though.

Re: BC Runner's Forum
Nice job ladysmithrunner! For me, I'm in my 1st week back into training after a 2 week recovery siesta from the half marathon though my hamstrings are kinda sore from Wednesday's intervals (maybe I shouldnt have done them in the first place this week...). Other than that training's going well..Come to think of it I'm only 5 weeks away from my next race (Stanley Park Spring Forward 5k)..

Yep, I'll be there Mudr -- kind of weird with the 25k not starting until 11 am. Good luck to you on the 50k -- hope to see you at some point -- I'm not sure if we're going to get lucky with the weather though.

Re: BC Runner's Forum
Anyone also doing the FoolsRun, Sun Run, or Vancouver International Marathon ?
The FoolsRun half-marathon in sunshine coast seems pretty cool. It's a one-way route from Gibsons to Sechelt. I'm taking the first ferry there on race-day morning.

I'm doing the Stanley Park Spring Forward 5k at Lumberman's Arch, the Sun Run, and probably the Mother's Day 8k in PoMo sometime in early May

Re: BC Runner's Forum
Hey all,

Tim check out Ultrarunning for dirty duo dirt -- it was a challenging run but fun!

Alex, I did the Fools Half last year. It is a great route but make sure you're getting in some hill training as there is a good one at about mile 11.

Next race for me is the Vancouver 1/2 (unless I find something in April -- there's a 10k trail run in Squamish near the end of April that I'm thinking about) -- my goal race right now is the Half Knacker (25k trail run) at the end of May.

Sure am enjoying the pre-spring weather & having some light in the evening!

Re: BC Runner's Forum
Hey gang!

Next up for me is a Fat *** event - Mountain Highway Madness. It's a series of 7.5km hill repeats (15km per lap) up the dirt road at the top of Mountain Highway in North Van. It's better known as the mountainbikers access to Grouse Mountain & we run laps from the gate at the bottom to the gravel quarry. It's apparently great training for anyone doing Western States 100 miler (Vancouver has 5 people going).

Hello fellow BCers

Well, I was going to do a half this weekend but have had to cancel ...Are you still doing this race Ladysmith? I will be lined up for the Merville 15km for sure. This w/e I will be in Victoria so I am doing a training run around Elk/Beaver Lake...this is where a few events will be held this year so I wanted to check it out.

Cheers all
Lee

p.s. Mudman...are you actually going to pay money for that Fat Arse event ??

Hey Lee, aww to bad about you not making it to the half Aww no worries I can't make it either lol..... That's ok I need to run further then that anyways this weekend. I'm thinking 30k. Yes I am still thinking about the 15k though. Let me know if you are doing that one too.

I love Elk/beaver lake Soooo nice.... flat and very senic, you'll love it! My big count down is on... May 1st and I am running 50k again. Maybe next year I will try alittle further....

Take care and have a great run around the lakes
