Re: Long Island Cool Runners out There
Can anybody suggest a good route in Oyster Bay for a newbie returning runner from long hiatus from running. Just got back into it today - started with fast walking on dreadmill - prefer outdoors but too many hills in OB Any suggestions?

Re: Long Island Cool Runners out There
you were probably better off not paying the 20 bucks anyway-although i suppose it goes to a good cause? it wasnt as organized as last yr --they didnt even have the little chip thingy to track u-so i was a little disappointed in that--though they did have a water station a little past the half way pt--i dont remember that being there last yr--lets see--oh yeah the t shirts given out were just as dorky as last years--but other than that it is/was a perfect day and a nice run--i think i improved a whole minute on my time from last yr--thats partly because for some reason i thought the cones symbolized the 1 mile mark instead of the halfway pt and i thought i was going real slow-so i went faster down the stretch and had a nice sprint towards the finish-i think i was 17 37 or something--i placed second among my family members-not bad considering i was the favorite for last --anyways ive written enough-hope everyone has a good year of running-maybe ill be recovered in time for next years race

Re: Long Island Cool Runners out There
Wow a LI thread, perfect!! Hello to all Anyone in NYCM or Philly Marathon (I lost nyc marathon lotto) looking for long run company? I live in Merrick, run Bethpage path, Pt Lookout to LB, and variety of Merrick outbacks. Hoping to break 4 hr, PR was nyc 3:50 a long time ago 1996. Anyway Sunday is typical day for long run. I'm in for next Sunday Bronx 1/2 marathon, anyone else in?

I look forward to reading past threads to get up to speed..
Enjoy the open roads

Brian

Re: Long Island Cool Runners out There
Hey everyone... This post has been quiet for a while now. Just wondering if anyone will be running the Chase Corporate Challenge at Jones Beach at the end of the month. If so, who are you running for? I'll be running for the "Long Island Home" (better known as South Oaks Psychiatric Hospital)

Re: Long Island Cool Runners out There
I'm going to attempt it. Coming off of yesterday's 1/2 marathon in the Bronx. Tonight will not be fast paced. Too hot anyway. Trying to get as many Monday nights in as possible this year.
