Not I...But I'll be at the Tomoka 4 Miler on the 16th, and Possibly the St Johns Town Center 5K on the 30th. I need an excuse to go up there and shop

Re: Florida Runners 2004 Forum
I am reposting this here because I realized I posted as a separate post. Anyway, what is the hill situation in south Florida. How do you all do "hills", I know the answer is the treadmill but for the sake of denial, please tell me there is a lone hill somewhere in S FLA. Are we not at a disadvantage to other runners in more topographically interesting areas?

Floridaboiler, thanks. I got your response in my other post!

Re: Florida Runners 2004 Forum
Hills - I usually do bridges. Some bridges you can get a great work out on.

Are there any Volusia County area runners in here? What are your thoughts on the desicion to cut down the oaks on the Loop in Ormond, to make room for a development/golf course? That just saddens me... such a beautiful place to run/bike, and they have to commercialize it.

Re: Florida Runners 2004 Forum
I'm in Pinellas... I actually have a hill here, I think it is the only one in the county! LOL I usually stick to the bridges - I have several to choose from around home. I can head to the beaches or run the Pinellas Trail, which has several bridges over the major roads in the county.

Most Definitely. I can't wait for the first real cold front to come down... going from 90 to 85 hardly counts as a cold front.

Re: Florida Runners 2004 Forum
Hi Floridaboiler!

I am so ready for some cooler weather. After a vacation in Alaska in August, I was so spoiled when I got home that I've been doing my weekday runs on a treadmill. And my knees don't like it.

For the hill question, in south florida we use the causeways and bridges for hills. Depending on where you're at, Ft. Lauderdale beach is a good area for this b/c you can hit several bridges in a small area, esp. 17th Street Causeway.
