Nike Shox 2:45 for Marathon

Anyone try the new Nike Shox 2:45 Marathon shoe. I know I am getting crazy about what shoe I want to wear for Marathon day. Doing New York in November, 1st Marathon. I love lightweight sneakers, but want to be sure there is enough support for 26.2 miles. Saw the add for Nike shox 2:45 want to get reviews. So far I'm thinking of wearing the Nike Zoom Miler, but have recently been training in Adidas Boston Classic.

whatever you do, give yourself enough time to break in any new shoes before race day. At least a few weeks with a couple long runs, so there won't be any surprises.

Re: Nike Shox 2:45 for Marathon
I would definitely opt for the Nike Miler over the Shox. I personally think the Shox 2:45 is too heavy for a marathon. The Miler is a couple of ounces lighter and it will make a difference. The shoe I like a lot from Nike is the Air Skylon '03. Not only does it look cool, but it is light and very cushioned. I can run on those all day.

I have been running with last years Nike Shox and Nike max before that...need the cushioning. People are trying to sell me on the Mizuno Creation. Has anyone compared the two first hand?

Oops, am a little late for this but my dream running shoe is Nike's Air Max Motto 2. It has the right blend of support/stability and cushioning that works for me anyway :) Although overtrained for the Chicago Marathon, my Motto's were practially doing the running for me toward the end.

You asked so here it is; wear the shoe that got you therre. Why would you take the cahnce on something not being right on raceday. Most all of the shoes out there are good shoes for somebody. You have to find the one that works for you AND FOR 26 MILES.

I would say too heavy for 26.2. Try the new Mizuno Air Nirvana or Brooks Trance NXT...lightweight, but plenty of cush for the long haul....

I've heard it takes 20-40 miles to break in a new pair of shoes. Seems about right from my experience.

Re: Nike Shox 2:45 for Marathon
I looked up the Air Zoom Miller, interesting shoe but it wouldn't last very long under my intense running :) My Motto's usually run right out of the box but prefer to break them in before running any (1/2)marathons. Good luck in the NYC marathon.

I have gone through 2 pairs of these shoes now and absolutely love them. Does anyone know where i can find additional pairs. I would buy 2 or 3 if they have them.

Hi, I have run many Marathons (7)Best 3:06. The name of the shoe seems to be deceptive, I would love to run a 2:45, But Only training can help you out, I know that too much cushion is not good for your legs, Eventually I wil get to that mark by guts, thanks 34:29 10,00 track runner... check out the picture Linz 2006, I ranthe Half Marathon for the US. 1,28.00. www.Linz2006.com

Re: Nike Shox 2:45 for Marathon
I have the Nike Shox 2:45 and I LOVE THEM!!! I ran my first marathon with them, and I didn't even know I was wearing them! They are so lightweight, and I love that there is no tongue, it is all in one like a sleeve! I trained on a treadmill all winter, and my marathon was the first time I wore my shoes outdoors! NO KIDDING!! And they were awesome!!
