Chicago Runners

Are there any Chicago runners? Or anyone planning to run lakefront at the weekends?

I'm not a Chicago runner, but I am coming to Chicago in September for the half marathon. Really looking forward to it!

You would think there wasn't anyone. Everytime I try to find someone to run with I never get any replies. Hi Melissa, Its good that your coming. Are you ready for the marathon?

Re: Chicago Runners
I run in the suburbs, seems like I hardly ever see anyone running anymore. I wanted to do the marathon in Chicago this year but I doubt that is gonna happen. Where in Chicagoland are you guys?

I have done the Chicago Distance Classic earlier in the season. It was great also registered for the Chicago half too. I beleive this would be a better race then Chicago Distance Classic.

Re: Chicago Runners
I just moved to Chicago in early August if you need a running partner. I live in the 600 block of Grace street (half a block to Lakeshore Drive) so I'm always on the lakefront path.

Yes, I'm ready. I'm going to do a 12 mile training run this weekend. I'm doing the race with two other girls that I train with. We are all very excited. None of us have been to Chicago before. This will be our 3rd mini.

Re: Chicago Runners
Melissa,
I'm thinking about runing the half marathon as well. I run a trail marathon just north of Chicago. I would love to see you and your friends at the Chicago Half. Are you all planning to celebrate afterwards?

We plan on staying for the party after the race, but our plane leaves out of Chicago at 6:00pm Sunday evening.

We'll be there. My picture is on my profile, and the girl with me in the picture will be at the half marathon also. See you there!

Re: Chicago Runners
So how did the race go? Any reports? The weather was perfect so I hope you all did great! I ran my first (and only) 20 miler on the Lake Shore path in prep for the marathon and it went pretty good. Let me know how the half went!

Re: Chicago Runners
The half marathon was so great. I loved that experience so much, lot of supporting crowd and energy along the road. It was my first race ever though. So I might not in a position to compare it with other races. But so far it was great to me.

I was a very unathletic person up to the day I decided to apply to this race and I started training ever since (about 3 more months). The result was a success.

Re: Chicago Runners
Way to go TK! I'm glad you had such a positive experience for your first race! I ran my first half (and first race) a couple of months ago and now I'm gearing up for my first full. If I'm still in Chicago next year I definitely want to run the half!
