Grace Race 2004...Chelmsford, MA

Just wanted to get the word out about the first of what we hope to be many to come. We are raising money for an orphanage for kids in Naivasha, Kenya.

We are running a 5-miler in Mid November to raise money for the land needed for the building. Our goal is $16,000 and we think it is totally obtainable.

Our sponsor, Grace Community Church, has been able to raise over $50,000 over the last 12-14 months in order to meet the simple needs of the people of Naivasha.

Please check out our homepage (and Cool Running Calendar)with links to anyone's wish to run, sponsor, or pledge toward a really great cause!

I'm really interested in running this race. Sounds like such a great cause. Do you have any info on the race course?

Thanks,
Tara

Hi all Boston-area runners,

The Grace Race 2004 is coming up in less than 3 weeks!
Please join us for a good fall 5-miler for a great cause. There is
a course map posted at the web site now. Many sponsors
have come forward to help us raise money. To put things in
perspective, look at it this way a dollar feeds the average family in Kenya for a whole day. Just by paying the registration fee ($15)
for this race you'll be providing generously for some needy kids.
We're also encouraging each of you runners or walkers to get a few
friends/coworkers/family members to sponsor you, so that we
can raise even more money to send directly to the orphanage.
Applications and pledge sheets and a photo of some of the orphans
you'll be helping are posted at the web site.

Thanks and hope to see you on Saturday Nov. 13th!

Here's the URL without the period at the end, in case you had
trouble getting there with my previous post.
