Congrats, VC & KJ for your determination and your courage.

Mars: I just saw your post!
hahah! I thought about that too. We could have faked the whole thing hahahah! But it's not our type. Véro and I are the real thing hehe!

So send that beer over! :-)

Also, I think I would not mind starting at 11h on Sunday. Because I like doing "la grasse matinée" on the weekend.

Why not do the starting time in the middle, 10h30?

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Great run with Mr. Lambchops this evening. 1 K warm-up, the Westmount YMCA 5 K course (done fast, close to 10 K race pace), and then 1 K cool down that really did not slow down that much.

And I wore shorts!!! A run in Montreal on January 13th in shorts!!! It was so awesome. I was wearing a LIFA top along with my shorts, but I chose a top that was a bit too heavy... should have gone with the mid-weight.

What fabulous weather. Didn't hit a single patch of ice, and the water looked much worse than it was. And it was warm... so warm...

A million thanks to Mike for making it out there on such short notice... it had been too long.

About the Mt-Royal run on Sunday... don't compromise starting time for me. I finish a meeting at 10:30 AM. I really cannot start before 11 AM. So if some of you, like Kneejerk, like to sleep in on Sunday, then I'll be delighted to run with you. For those of you who have family commitments and must be back early, don't hesitate to start at 10 AM. And if 10:30 AM is better for some then 10 AM, let's see if we can't get the rest of the 10 AM group in at 10:30 AM.

Once we have this figured out, we'll be good for the rest of the year.

Take care.

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
For Sunday, I suggest that if the footing is great on the mountain, we do our usual run to the Cross... while the conditions are still good.

However, if and when the conditions on the trail deteriorate, we can do the Standard Life 10 K course. It's an outstanding course... with the same start and end point... the monument on Parc Ave....

Take care all.

Mars

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Good morning folks,
By reading your posts (Kneejerk, Grommit, Omni (?), Mountmars), a 11H00 start on Sunday does not seem to be a problem, on the contrary (how about you, Joeboxer ?). Then... be it. For the sake of accomodation, I propose a 11H00 start.
Course ? Run-to-the-cross or the Standard Life 10km.

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Hi,

I have no run to report, my social life interfered with my run this morning heheh. Nothing can beat the legendery HEC 4 à 7 !! (make that 4h to 2h) hehehe. I will go to FFL this evening after class.

I'm sorry but I can't make it to the Sunday run (yes once again). I'm having family over at my cottage (they live in Ontario) and we are having a LATE birthday party for me. (he is my 'parrain' ?!)

I know for sure I will be staying in Montreal next weekend (as I have a GMAT test to study for)...so let's say that I am positive that next weekend I will be able to make it !

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
I am not fussy to the start time, Like Grommit, 10, 10:30, 11:00... they are all fine for me, as long as there is a slow group out there for me to join, I will be there, I mean we (titus is coming too, of course)

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Great! If we start at 11:00, I can sleep a little bit more on sunday morning. So now there is nothing to stop me on saturday night. Nothing. whooooo hooo!
-Sorry about this, I have not been out dancing for years and I will be going on saturday :-)

Véro: have a good weekend and that would be so great if you could come next week.

...So there are 6 of us so far, this sunday (+ Titus :-))

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Hi, I went out for a run this afternoon, 10k, very nice temperature but it wasn't easy with the winds of 40-45km/h. I guess it makes us stonger to run in these conditions, better in a training than in a race!

Have a good week-end run!

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Great! So it looks like a 11 AM start, at the monument on Parc Ave. The course is to be determined, depending on the trail conditions. But it will either be the climb to the Cross, of the Standard Life 10K.

And JB, you should know, I'm the Sheperd... I never leave anyone behind...

Thank you all for accomodating my schedule!

Take care.

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
If you haven't already been out for a run today stop whatever it iis you're doing and go now.... right now!!! you can surf the net later

It is the most beautiful winters morning out there.... sunshine and clear, ice-free side walks ..... bit of a sharp wind... just enough to add an element of challenge..

My schedule called for a tune-up race... ain't many of them in january... so I settled for dressing lightly and doing the lactate threshold thing on my rockland/round the block route... took a couple of kms to get into it but I found a nice groove.... 6.25 miles, 44:23 (7:06/mile) pretty happy with this... I think I've only ever run this route faster than this once before... things is looking good for Miami

Seeya tomorrow @11

Hahahahah! Gromit. Thanks so much. I was actually stuck in a procrastinating mode...doing anything and everything but going for my run... Your post was exactly what I needed!

I'm going for my run, right NOW!

Re: Montreal Runners Forum
Well, I hadn't read Grommit's post, but I still went out for a run at the end of the afternoon. Hill workout in Westmount; close to 4 miles, 34:43.

The temperature was terrific, even if it felt a bit colder than I expected.

See you all tomorrow.

Take care.
