Re: Another attempt at a Houston thread.
Rachel,

Thanks for the link... Where is the Bear Creek Park, I have heard of that. I live in Magnolia if you know where that is I'm not sure if Bear Creek Park is near my area or not.

Terry Hershey park would be a nice weekend run for me as well but it is a drive for me from what I saw on the link...

Thanks for the info...

Sherrie

Re: Another attempt at a Houston thread.
Sherrie,

Bear Creek is still a drive, it is at Hwy 6 and Clay Road. I thought Magnolia was sort of far to go to Terry Hershey. It takes me about 30 mins to get there so I only go on the weekend. I don't know of any places closer to you. Maybe someone else can help.

Re: Another attempt at a Houston thread.
The temperature was great this morning. I got in a quick 3 miles and it was still only 70 when I finished at 8 AM. And even this evening at speedwork things weren't too bad.

Hey txchikruns - there's a race this weekend at Klein High School. Not too terribly far from you - maybe 30 minutes. There's a 5K and a 10K, and you finish in the school stadium. Here's a link if you, or anyone else on here wants to register:

Re: Another attempt at a Houston thread.
Mighty Joe,

I registered for the Space City 10-miler yesterday down at the marathon kick-off party. Also registered for the marathon too. It's easily the farthest out from a race that I've ever registered, but I've got a good feeling.

Maybe we can hook up at the 10 miler. Anyone else doing it? It's a great race and good course. Hopefully it'll be cool by then.

Re: Another attempt at a Houston thread.
So Cathy, did you sign up for the 10-Miler this weekend?

M.J. Young, here's a picture so you'll have an idea of what I look like. Find me at the race and let's talk running, before or after.

I'll either be wearing a sweatband or a white running hat, and definitely sun glasses, unless it's really overcast Sunday morning, and I doubt we'll get that lucky. 5'10", very short hair.
