Re: League of Lizards Week 5 (and some Week 4)

I finished W5D3 today. WOOO!!! I actually ran for about 20:30 because I wanted to finish the last song on my playlist, LOL. It wasn't bad really, definitely an effort but not too difficult to get through. According to Google's pedometer, I ran about 1.8 miles, which means I am doing about an 11-minute mile... not going to set the world on fire, but not as slow as I thought I was :)

Sta, I agree with everyone else: stay with us!! It doesn't matter if we're on different weeks.

Re: League of Lizards Week 5 (and some Week 4)

Hey Lizards

I did wk5d2 on Friday, it did not go well. Of course I had a spat with my hubby and was already in my track pants, so I just walked out. Not the best frame of mind for my run. I used to run to relieve stress, when my younger son was being diagnosed, but never when I was mad. I could not concentrate at all. Hopefully Sunday will be better.

Re: League of Lizards Week 5 (and some Week 4)

Here I am! Wow!! So many have finished week 5, and we were all so worried.... I am still doing a couple of week 4 days (going to do another tomorrow) until I feel like I am back on track...turns out that my kids had stomach bugs over the past couple of days so I must be fighting something off). I feel much better about that looming 20 minute run, now that you guys have done it and lived to tell about it...;) I hope to re-start week 5 on Wednesday (if I am needing to get out of the house, I may even do it on Christmas!) I have a strange question, did any of you go back to the podcasts during later weeks and found it harder than to just listen to your own music and go by time? When I did the week5 day1 run earlier in the week, I went back to the podcasts, and felt like it was an ETERNITY before he said "stop". I know I had other things going on that got in the way of a good run that day, but I am thinking I am better with my own music at this point. Is anyone still running with the podcasts? I know NYC made her own, but what is everyone else doing?

Lizard, take care of that hip. You don't want to risk a serious injury.

Thank you all for your support, I will stay on with my LOL's after all. Hope Santa brings you all some fun running gear. Have a great holiday in case I do not get a chance to post again after my run tomorrow. I have relatives in town already so my life is nuts, lol

-Stacey

Re: League of Lizards Week 5 (and some Week 4)

Hey Lizards -

Good luck everyone - hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Glad to be a part of such a fabulous support group!

Thanks NewYork for the play list - it sounds great! When I have some extra time I'll add your music to my ipod.

Sta - Glad you're back! Haven't had time to put an true playlist together but I've been playing albums and skipping around during my "runs/jogs" I find it amazing how much music can motivate. Bought my ipod the day before I started C25K and it has really helped. I tried the pod casts and didn't reallly like the techno music- although my kids found them very amusing. I had to explain who that man was.....

Lizard - I've been having some trouble with my hip too. It was really bad and seems to have let up a little but is not completely gone. Strange that it is only one hip. A seasoned runner friend mentioned that he thought it could be my stride and that it might help to get professionally fitted for running shoes- haven't done it yet. Also - mine doesn't hurt very much while I run but starts hurting once I'm done. I've tried to consciously change my stride a little.... which is really messing with my head! Please let me know if you find a solution.

Got to run :D For all you santas out there - good luck packing your sleigh!

Merry Christmas!!!!- slwrunner

Re: League of Lizards Week 5 (and some Week 4)
Howdy all...first of all, glad you are staying sta!!! I did W5D3 yesterday and it went pretty ok. Once I got to 8-9 minutes I knew I would make it--felt sort of like cruise control which was great. Congrats to everyone on all this great progress no matter what week or day you are on now!! We have come a long way and we'll only get stronger and fitter. Happy Holidays to all...the next several days will be crazy so I won't even begin to begin Week 6 until probably Thursday. Have a good one...Brian
