New alternatives to Prospect Park

I've been running in Prospect Park (Brooklyn, NY) for a while now. Looking for new routes in general and long-run routes in specific (that I can start in Park slope). Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!!

Ocean Parkway to Coney Island is a nice run.
Also if you go through cobble hill, to Brooklyn Bridge.

Re: New alternatives to Prospect Park
My long run used to be from Park Slope down third avenue and second avenue, through Owls Head Park to the Belt Parkway to the Boardwalk and back up Ocean Parkway to Prospect Park. It breaks up the monotony of six laps of the park. The first stretch through industrial Sunset Park might be a little desolate for your taste, but at least traffic is light. And running by the water, under the VZ Bridge, along the boardwalk, and up the grass median on Ocean Parkway makes up for it.

I also sometimes ran from work in lower Manhattan. When coming over the bridge, instead of dealing with the traffic and exhaust in Downtown Brooklyn, I would double back down to Furman Street, under the Brooklyn Heights esplanade. This becomes Columbia Street, and you can take it all the way past the Battery Tunnel entrance before looping back up through Red Hook and up Ninth Street to Park Slope.

Enjoy!

If you're up for exploring, you should try running through Ditmas Park. It's pretty flat, so not all that challenging hillwise, but it's a beautiful neighborhood and really feels like the suburbs smack dab in the middle of Brooklyn. For you, just run in the park until the Parkside Avenue exit (right by the tennis center). Head up Coney Island Avenue (not the prettiest, but don't panic), take a left on Church Avenue and then take a right on Stratford, Westminster, or Rugby Roads and keep on going. Huge Victorian houses, green lawns, very little traffic. Eerily placid.

I also love just going up and down the hills in Windsor Terrace. I run in Brooklyn all the time and would love some route suggestions, as well!
