Just as I clicked onto this thread, the **** ad came on. Please get rid of it! I like to have sound on my computer, but can't stand it when it pops up several times in just a few minutes.

Instead of complaining in the Suggestion Box, why not complain directly to the source. Tell them that based on their annoying audio banners you decided to go with a PS3 instead.

What a weird way to play.

That implies that Microsoft has something to do with the ad. They do not. You need to figure out what the company touting the free xboxs actually DOES and go with a competitor.

There is a decision maker on THIS site that has decided that talking ads are fine. They are not fine, for a long list of reasons.

I realize the site is "free" and our opinions don't matter.

Except that they matter a lot, as we are the targets of the ads.

I don't mind being a target.

I don't want to be a victim, though.

And so, I turn my sound off and sometimes run adblocker. No clickthroughs from coolrunning on any of these ads now.

GOOD JOB!

Not weird at all. The fact that I didn't realize it wasn't a Microsoft ad means that I've successfully managed to tune it out.

Who need Adblock?

BTW, the offending ad seems to have disappeared anyway.

My solution is to switch browsers and install third-party ad-blocking software so that I don't have to see or hear ANY of the ads, which I'm sure is not what the advertisers would prefer.

Hey ellenshana!

Thanks for the suggestion. Firefox with AdBlocker works great!
