I have a sizable cranium, so my friends aptly named me "Head". After losing 70 lbs while i was away from all of them, the next time they saw me i looked half of myself, hence HalfHead.

Late to the party ......
It's cool reading about everyone's screen names.
Mine is not very imaginative. My initials are H(enry)P(retzer). Years ago Mrs hup called me HP for a time, it somehow, sometime morphed to hup.

My handle is also my license plate, and comes from running every Big Sur(Grizzled Vet) and being a bit of a Corvette fanatic. One of my Corvettes was pretty rough looking, so it was the perfect plate.

Well, nothin' special here, either.

One of my nicknames for a long time (old friends) has been Bobcat, and I kinda like it. I've used that name at other sites, but when I came here, "Bobcat" was taken. I did a search for that name, and only one post was made by that person, and that well over a year before I got here.

But he had the name, and I couldn't get it. So I just modified it a little, and made Bobcatt. I was hoping to get the original after the big melt-down in here last year (there were several people who had lost their screen names, and had to start all over), but no such luck, Bobcat was still registered to somebody else.

There you go. Who's left?

Well, I live in the rainy Pacific NW. I leave for my run after my husband has already been out for about a half hour, then he comes in and goes to work before I get in. So, one exceptionally wet morning, when only the ducks and the die-hards were out, he emailed me from work to see if I had made it back. He addressed it to "wetrunner1" and signed it "wetrunner2"...and it stuck.

I enjoyed reading all the posts here. This is why I chose Geb...Haile Gebrselassie is my favorite athlete of all. I admire his ability, mental toughness and work ethic. I've followed his career for a while now. He's a great credit to the world of running not only for his talent but for what he gives back. Hope he has a great London Marathon too.

Hello everyone!

I'm new around here, but I recognize some of you from another running site where I spend a lot of my time. Everyone seems so civil around here. What a refreshing change!

In the same vein as most of what has been posted on this
thread, no imagination here. I'm 52 years old, have been running for a long time (25 years), and I'm particularly fond
of cross country.

I have to say, that this thread and the "Confessions" one in Basic Training have made for some very interresting reading. It kinda gives an insite to the personality behind the words, so now I have a new mental picture of you all.

Good job ribs for starting this!!

I had a pet rabbit that I name Tibbar - rabbit spelled backward (and pronounced Tibber).

Someone had already taken just Tibbar, so I became Tibbar2.

So where is the original Tibbar ?

I'm the youngest of 4. All my life my brothers have made up various versions of my name. It started when would I get mail from them (when they were in college and I was in gradeschool, when they were traveling the world and I was in highschool, when they got jobs and I was away at college) they always spell my name some crazy way: kath-ode, kath-a-anna (middle name is anne), kath-o-leenie.....the list goes on. Kath-o-leenie is the one they use most frequently.

And now, since they've been writing my name like that for so long they call me all those names too. (In person, not just in writing)
