Hear, hear for the mixed breeds. Some of the cutest dogs I've seen and also probably the healthiest. We are not pro-purebred, just fell into it, I guess, but I volunteer at the local city animal shelter, and see some real cuties.

Maconmoves, we can't see your pic
<HR>

I agree with the mixed breeds being healthier and sometimes the cutest ones. Starr - your's is too cute! They all are cute though and special to each of us.
AJH - your rottie looks alot like mine - he smiles too and is the same approx. age.
My Ben that we had put down last month was from the Humane Society - hound/husky mix. I can't even visit that place, I want to take them all home!

Oh - Maconmoves - your picture shows up on my computer.

My husband has no shame when it comes to his "girl" (not me, BTW). He is always bragging about how big her eyebrows are and how round they are... When we go out to restaurants, he always orders an extra meatball to take home or saves some of his steak/chicken.

I am sorry about your Ben.

It is not a fun place to volunteer at the animal shelter. There are many times I want to take a dog home (esp. if he/she is elderly or sick or.... one came in with a mangled foot and had to get it amputated. Who's going to adopt a 3 legged dog...? As it is, everyone wants pure bred puppies, not adult dogs. Sorry to offend, if I have.)

I wish I had a picture of my dog I could post. Will have to take one tonight to post tomorrow. She's a pit bull / golden retriever mix and a great dog, but so incredibly mellow that there's no way she would ever run with me! She's getting on in years too - turning 10 this summer - and has hip problems, so I wouldn't make her run.

Here's a picture of my 19 year old Siamese Koko. He's doing pretty well for an old guy, though has lost a lot of weight recently.

Great thread, I love it! Great pics everyone...

This is our 'Abby', she is a York-a-Peek-a-Poo! (see if you can figure that out). She is almost 1 year old and as you can imagine, she is our baby...

Forgump, this picture is precious. I love Sadie's white muzzle and how protective she is of Dunkin.

We have a beautie of a Goldie, once I get the hang of posting pics he will be on here. I am trying to convince Mrs C we should get another one to keep Woody company.

Oh Steve! I just wanna give "Mandy" a huge hug! Reminds me alot of my childhood dog named "sompin". My mom had always said, "if we ever get a dog, that'll be sompin" . . .hence his name.

I love this site - makes me smile every time I open it.

These pics are AWESOME.

Jim - I LOVE Sweet Pea!

Econo - I think Sox's head is bigger than little Econo's, 18 pounds??? We have a 6 pound fiesty siamese named "Pif", he will chase a ball if you throw it for him, but he will never bring it back. My daughter has a horse that I will soon post a photo of . Oh and we have 2 gerbils that finally decided to start a family ( they both had careers ). Yesterday she had 3 tiny pink babies.

maggie (left) - she's been gone two years, but was a australian shepherd mix
we got from a dog rescue. her ashes are up on her favorite trail in
New Mexico

lola (right) - still with us, not running much these days; dobbie mix from the
humane society. ALWAYS starts a run with a 800m fast interval, and
when she figures out we're headed back home she goes really really slowly
