Someone show me how to post pics and I'll post pics of my two rabbits (a lilac named Dennis Hopper and an English spot named Hedda Hopper) and my two Italian greyhounds--Beau and Stanley.
And no, the rabbits and the dogs do not get along. One of my IGs is afraid of the rabbits, but then, he is afraid of his own shadow. Pet lover here!
Sorry to be the village technical idiot.

Shelley, what most people do is get an account on a site like flickr or photobucket and then you would post a link to the picture by putting the link inside of img tags -img- link -/img- Take out the dashes after the brackets, I just put those there otherwise they wouldn't show up
We would love to see your crew, especially Spareribs.

edited to add thanks for the Timmy pics AJ, he always makes me smile so I can imagine what living with him must be like.

If this works, then this is Misha at age 5:

Misha would not dream of joining me on any of my runs! When I take her outside to ... well, you all know why dogs go outside ... when she is finished, she hunches up her back, like "ok, pick me up and carry me now. I've had enough of this exercise stuff" Not saying exactly she is a little wimp, but our outdoor cat loves to terrorize her.

Definitely princess material there, cj. Misha looks like she's just been coiffed!

I just love this thread. Bunnies, cats, hellcats, and dog-o-rama. More, more, more.

aj, your skill with the camera (on the move, no less) and the photogeneity of Timmy produces some amazing results. I love the mirror pic and the super close-up.

Anyone who looks at the world through rose colored glasses may of course call Hokie a pet!

And Maggie looks like she actually doesn't mind. You would never see a cat wearing those

I?ll come back to this thread tonight because I?m sure this issue has been discussed here but just in case (and I want to see all the cute pets)??.. when is it too cold outside to run your dog? My theory is that any temp below freezing or 30 degrees is too cold for a short-haired dog (Doberman). I?m not a fast runner (12 minute training mile) so he?s not getting a running workout like I am. It?s more like a trot for him and he only tires in heat/humidity. Getting him a coat won?t keep his legs warm so it?s not a ?dress warmer? issue for him. The mornings now are in the teens and I think that?s too cold for him. Or should I just run him for a mile or so and see how he reacts to the cold? I don?t want a dog-sicle. Any advice from cold weather runners with dogs would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have two shorthaired old (13 and 10yrs) wiener ladies, an a puppy wirehaired one (7mths).

Iīve been out with them in all kinds of weather, but not running under about -12 to 15celsius.
Iīm not really running with the young one yet, because there is all too many things she needs to explore en route..

The oldest one has started to get cold very easily, she clearly shows she wants home, but the 10 year old still runs with me, 3 - 5 miles, not too fast (we both have short legs) but she shows no signs of being tired or cold. But then, go straight home and inside, even if they donīt sweat, I feel they start to freeze if i stop to gossip with my neighbour after the run.

So when I say Iīll take out the dogs, it means one very short turn, one very zigzaggy one, and thanks god, one to jog conviniently togetrer with a dog that enjoys it!

Cat (nice handle fo this thread!)
(Actually it just comes from my name)

Catrun2:
Thanks for your reply. Predicted temp for tomorrow morning on weather.com is -7C, feels like (with wind) -12C. I may try taking him out and see how he reacts. I can always cut the run short if he?s pitching a fit. He?s usually more interested in spotting other animals anyway. But does notice rain and hates that. Gets used to it tho.

I have a wiener lady, too! Heidi will be 14 in February. I found her a year and a half ago and couldn?t find her owner. I was shocked when the vet told me how old she was. They had her vet records but when they contacted the owner, the phone number was disconnected and they wouldn?t give me her address. So she became mine. There?s a wiener on page 1 of this thread that belongs to SLOjim. It looks just like mine except mine is in the process of losing more weight (22.4# to 18.2# since March). So she?s a little more low to the ground. The vet said that she should weigh 12#. I can?t imagine her losing another 6#. She just had gallstones removed last week so she?s not doing any running or stair climbing. And you run miles with yours!?! Or did I misunderstand? Heidi won?t/can?t run more than a few city houses and that?s after a squirrel. Maybe that?s why she has a weight problem lol.

Hi Lynne!
touching story of your old wiener! Had one that died at 15!

SLOjim has one! (the picture!). Yes, I run with the 10 year old, but no fast ones. She has always been athletic, dogs differ too. The oldest one we often call Princess, because she is so delicate and touchy.. All she wants (or has really ever wanted) is a good bed, delicious food, good service and an inside toilet, please (that one she hasnīt got yet...).

Start with walk/runs and make them gradually longer. My dogs seem to get more cold from being wet than out in freezing temperatures. I had jackets for them, but that didnīt seem to make any difference as long as they kept moving.

good runs/walks!

We have 2 cats named Flo and Keba. Flo is 12 and Keba is somewhere between 8 and 10. We adopted Flo as a kitten from the Humane Society and Keba adopted us. She appeared outside our door and we took her in. She was a skinny, abandoned and abused cat but it s now living the good life! She is very sweet. Flo can be sweet and cuddly when she wants but she has a devil side as well. She has been battling a kidney problem recently and is getting quite the reputation at the vet's as being an angry, fighting, biting, peeing cat! It's embarassing!! :-) We love them both.

I'd show pictures but I don't know how to include them.
