Karl,

I've noticed they have you confirmed for both the full and half marathons. Did you clone yourself...or are you running 39.3 miles!?

(If you did clone yourself, can you let me know how you did it? That could really come in handy sometime... )

Ilene - you have the cute groovy swirly skirt right? Mine is just plain black.

Lab - another guy from GP that I know is running the full, but his name shows up on both the half and full registration. When I asked him about this at the gym, he said "I should only be on the full, that's all I registered for", But he even has different bib numbers on the full and half listings on the website. Maybe whoever inputs that data was having some problems or doing something wrong?

After I emailed the RD the other day to tell him there was a chance I was going to downgrade to the half, I noticed I was listed in both races as well. I probably started some kind of chain reaction or something. I'll barely be able to cover 13.1 by then, 39.3 is out of the ?

I ran in the La Jolla 1/2 marathon yesterday, a hilly course and one of the most challenging races I've done. I didn't push myself and I even walked a bit on the really steep sections, my finishing time was pretty even with the other 1/2's I've done this year. The good news was no knee or hip aches afterwards. If I take it easy between now and our trip, I should be fine for this race. For a while there, I was worried I might not be able to do it!! But I think I'll be OK. Dpn't worry Jim, you'll still beat me on your worst day! Hope you're feeling better now.

Sherie

I thought it was an ultra! Seriously, I have no idea what's up with that. Now if I could defer my "half entry" until next year, that would be cool.

Resurrecting this thread on T minus six days to the Ave.

We have a tough act to follow after the Eugene festivities Sounds like you guys ahd a greta weekend.

My group should hit town 3-4pm ish on Saturday. We'll go straight to packet pickup, and then hopefully peruse the campground to look for signs of Boomer life. Plans are to attend the pasta feed in Weott.

I hope to meet plenty o' Boomers this weekend ...... maybe even work on something for Sunday afternoon? Do they drink beer in Humboldt County?

Heehee, your map says "Boomerland" on it -- what fun!
I haven't signed up for the pasta feed (I think we just show up, right?).

Karl, do you still want me to bring a tent, pad & sleeping bag for you?

I anticipate arriving around mid afternoon. Leaving GP by around 11:00 or so, which should put me down there in about 3.5 hrs.
Econo, what time do you plan on leaving? I'm assuming you are driving through GP and heading out to the coast via that route, correct? After you pass GP on Hwy 199, the highway at a particular point is less than 1 mile from my house, which will be a little less than your half way point of driving down to Eureka, so if you would like you are more than welcome to stop here for potty breaks, eat breaks, whatever and then we can follow each other down if that works for you?

Yes, please. I'll be packing some other camping gear like charcoal in my bag to check for the flight. Can't take my camp stove or fuel.
