I'm so sorry I won't be there to join in the festitivies. Tet has graciously taken over my hotel room. I just hope he's on his best behavior and doesn't get thrown out over any hot tub scandal. (I did note that some of the rooms have hot tubs . . .)

Little butterfly, if you read this before you leave for Eugene, I am especially sorry I won't be able to meet you. I'll be in touch. Que sientes como una mariposa en brisas placidas cuando tu corres ...

Run well, enjoy the beautiful Oregon spring weather and laugh lots. I'm looking forward to pictures and stories.

Never mind those autographs! If you see Kenny Moore, get me his ADDRESS! The "friend" of mine who I trusted to get it for me stabbed me in the back by giving me a bad address and now my fan letter to him has come back. I need someone I can trust to do the job right this time! Spareribs

I talked with FlashTx today, as we worked together on a packet pickup volunteer duty at a local running store. He and the TX group fly out early tomorrow. I sure hope they don't embarrass me, as I am very sensitive. Run well. Spareribs

Tammy, can you label one of those beers "Labduck" for the aid station? I kinda associate with Eugene drinking beer in the morning (at football tailgaters). There's nothing quite like a breakfast beer...

The weather looks pretty good. The temperature looks perfect - probably high 40's at the start, and low 50's by the finish. There is a slight chance of rain, but even if it does rain it probably won't be much. Unfortunately it will be windy. It is very windy right now (6 PM), and it is supposed to be only slightly better in the morning. So, find some big people to run behind! The wind will probably be a crosswind for most for the race, so it may not be that bad. From 14 to 19 will probably be somewhat into the wind, with the worst stretch from 17-19. But then you should get a tailwind during 20-25 miles, which is a great spot for a little help.

had dinner with several boomers. good times, good laughs and not too many laughs at Ribs expense either.

speaking of Ribs, Tet had a nice conversation with Kenny Moore. and found out that Jon's highschool ski coach was the same coach he had written about in his book on Bowerman.

sounded to me like Jon was giving kenny his address.

The goddesses received some nice pink thongs compliments of Tet . . . now we are sitting by the pool, talking of things that won't be mentioned in ANY rr's!

Whoop -- dinner was greta; Pre's memorial was poignant, weather was perfect for showing fun visitors around...

Good to see you John and sorry we'll miss you tomorrow. Great to finally meet Rive & Rearn and mariposai! Saw winejunky at dinner, rlemert, duckgeek, and Mike (rassmussen) and his wife Sue at dinner. My fears at not being able to get into the restuaurant were unfounded -- there we were at a nice long table! Tetsujin gave us lovely pink flip flops (heehee), too!

26.2 of the most beautiful sunny miles since Portland Marathon on 10/1. plus one barefoot lap around Hayward Field and one in 1977 Nike Waffle Stompers with Tammy/Rindi/Posie.
Relaxing at Hilton now and looking forward to getting out to Econo's!
