Weightloss pact

Okay, Jemmama, Evanflein, anyone else from the ice cream thread (or not) who wants in on this, here the deal: 5 lbs. in 5 weeks. Are we ready?

I weighed myself this morning, naked of course, (naked, naked, naked, see I said it, nyah, nyah) and wrote that on the calendar. Then I went to April 12, 5 weeks from today, and wrote a number that was 5 lbs less. I mean, come one, I have 5 weeks here. I've got no excuse not to be able to drop a silly 5 lbs in 5 weeks. 7 lbs would be even better, but I'd be happy with the 5 lbs. of winter weight that has creeped on.

So, are we ready?

BTW, I have started off my new diet plan by baking a cake at 6:00 am, because someone in my household is having a birthday, and of course, I licked the cake mix off the wisks of the beater. Anyone else do this? An auspicious start to my diet.

Re: Weightloss pact
Hey Holly!

I am SO ready. I faced reality on the scale this morning, and it was worse than I thought. I'm totally committed to losing one pound a week. That's a reasonable amount to attempt. Even so I will be at this for more than 5 weeks, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Yesterday I was "perfect." I made no choices food-wise. Everything I was going to eat was written in my notebook, and I just checked off the boxes. I wasn't starving, just a little hungry in between meals and snacks. All day I pathetically looked forward to my bedtime snack of dry cereal and herbal tea. This was a little luxury I added to my usual regimen, and I think it helped. My old way was to eat nothing after 7pm, ever. (BTW I actually really like crunching on dry cereal, and the herbal tea was a delicious orange.)

Today will be more challenging, because I'm running and will undoubtedly get hungrier.

Holly, when I'm in the zone, I resist the cake batter. Haven't been in the zone for a while, though. :-/ On the bright side, we have no birthdays here until after Easter.

Erika and others - hoping to hear from you.

Jem

Re: Weightloss pact
This seems like more fun than the Healthy Eating thread that is already going on. Besides we get to talk about being naked when we weigh in.

I'm up for the challenge too. It is only 6 am where I am so I haven't eaten yet but we are having a birthday potluck at work. This will be my first obstacle.

Re: Weightloss pact
Hey this sounds like a great motivation may I join in?? Maybe I will be able to stick with it more if I know I am doing it with others. I have been trying but not doing so well lately and a fresh start may be just the ticket.
Thanks
Donna

Re: Weightloss pact
Thanks ! I need the motivation. I too like cake batter(but tend to eat it while being clothed). I should lose like 15lbs., but 5 is a good and reasonable goal. Now that my long runs are in the 16-20 mile range I find myself constantly hungry! You can only eat so many carrot sticks and non-fat yogurt. Its driving me crazy(maybe crazier).
I must admit I'm looking forward to weighing myself um, er, naked, than posting. But then again I'm only male.

Re: Weightloss pact
I never pass up the chance to get naked with a bunch of Boomer Goddesses, so when I got up this afternoon, I weighed myself naked, too.

I am 6'4½", 167 pounds. The same height and weight as in high school.

The problem is, I don't know whether to gain or lose. I do have some body fat, so I could possibly lose it, and get faster. Or I could keep lifting weights, possibly gain a few pounds, and get stronger. Choices, choices.

Meanwhile, I'm naked in a thread with a bunch of Boomer Goddesses, so it's all good.

Re: Weightloss pact
I don't really need to lose.. can I play if I just need to maintain?

I already weighed myself naked before even reading this, so I sort of fit...

I'm not sure how long my enforced lack of activity is going to go on, & it's driving me crazy. short trip. I get so frustrated I want to scream, (but people get funny looks on their faces & back away slooowwly)(one ran)... or break things, but then I got arrested. So what else is there to do but eat?

a weigh in with accountability --- & fines? Holly, your job? could get me over the tough spots.
