Re: Weightloss pact
Okay, just back from yoga and the scale at the gym. I weighed fully clothed, lucky for those DHs at my facility, with a full tummy and bladder, with shoes on.

I also think that the challenge should have a degree of difficulty multiplier to adjust for age. .1 for every year over 42? (.1 x 5 pounds x years beyond 42.) Time for a brownie.

OK, my life isn't crazy enough, so I'm in.

Here's my weigh-in picture (in front of a mirror, no less - but sorry, no kissy faces)

Re: Weightloss pact
Hmmm, I could be in for this too depending on what I actually weigh. I haven't worked up the nerve to get on the scale recently so my guess is 5 lbs is a good goal. Not sure about weighing in naked, though. I prefer to keep my underwear on as there is far too likely a chance someone will barge uninvited into the bathroom.

Re: Weightloss pact
I like euphoric's idea (s).. maybe for each 1.5 lb. we lose we could deduct a year?

LInda, maybe you could weigh on Sunday's & report on Thursday. I'm not sure how strict the rules are... I'd help but I don't have much clout. See if you can bribe the ones with the power.. Holly or Jem. Don't know if it'll be easy.

Holly, you made me laugh again.
(see, I started to help, Linda)

Does anybody weigh themselves more than once a week? I only want to report once a week, that's bad enough... but I usually weigh myself, properly un-attired of course, every day. Just a habit.

I weigh myself everyday when I think I'll like what I see. But sometimes I'm sure the scale is not my friend. And I avoid it. But not for more than a week at a time.

Speaking of the scale, I weighed about 3 pounds less today than yesterday. Today's weight was more in line with what it ought to be, so I'm using it as my baseline. Yesterday's was artificially high for a couple of reasons, I guess.

Between my crazy fluctuations and people like euphoric who add as many pounds as possible before getting on the scale (what, no coat?), I think our data is not going to be very valid.

Progress report: I started my new plan on Wednesday. So far I've been like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way, but I'm hungrier today. Must remember that I received a cute little running skirt for my b'day, and as things are I'll never have the nerve to wear it outside the house.

Re: Weightloss pact
I weigh myself every day too. But I'll only report once a week. And I too had a drop today (1.5 lbs), but it puts me more at what I think I should be... yesterday was a spike from Wednesday's indulgences. So, weigh in on Thursday, but I'm starting with my Friday weight. Add in Euphoric's adjustment for age, and I'm almost at goal! Gee, that wasn't so hard... Ok, if I adjust the start weight down, I guess I'll adjust the goal weight down, too. And I'm not wearing boots.

Re: Weightloss pact
Jem & Erika... you 2 are ahead already! Jem, when was your birthday? I think we're more or less the same age... I am gaining another year in April.

Valid data? With this creative bunch? Hard to say. I'm actually thinking about posting poundage. After the first inflated losses (yesterday I picked up the dog) that would have to be a little accurate.

C'mon, this is the same bunch that reports our monthly mileage to Tramps in 1000ths of a mile. Of course we can be precise and accurate. We just need Garmins that have bodyweight readouts is all.

With a breakdown of fat, water, muscle, bone, etc. I'd go for one of those.

By the way, I was starving so allowed myself 200 extra calories. It's cool, though, because I'm still hungry.

Re: Weightloss pact
i just found this thread and have read my way all the way through, howling with laughter. i particular liked the scale that you could get on three times and pick the number you like. i'm in. maybe for once i can lose the same 3 lbs and keep them off . and then some. i'm one of those weighing addicts, and i have a lovely accurate scale i bought in sweden last summer - it weighs in decimal points, no less. if i stop weighing myself, i start eating. or maybe i stop weighing myself because i've started eating. anyway, i'm at xx2.0 today, nekkid, of course; ; think i can get down to xx7 in five weeks?
