DW and I are landscaping/gardening fanatics. We don't get enough sun to have a veggy garden, but we have just about everything else.

Here is our backyard and pond. No Egret it's not for you!

Reading through this has made me itch to get out there and plant, but we don't officially plant our gardens here until the first of May. Maybe I'll go down to the garden center and just browse...

Being in the "Old World" ( England ) I have an allotment 25 yards by 10 that I rent from the local council as by law they have to provide them if there is sufficient demand.

I've had it 20 years and basically grow as many varieties of fruit and veg as possible from asparagus, sweet corn, globe artichokes, beans ( 5 or 6 kinds ) through root crops such as potatoes, swedes, fennell to soft fruit such as blueberries, gooseberries and blackberries. I know once I counted up to about 50 varieties.

Its a nice break from work and training but it is a pain when you go on holiday and come back to find you have missed a crop.

Oh to live in Florida where frosts aren't such a problem as our latest ones can sometimes fall in early June which restricts the growing season a bit.

Loved the photo's of the garden, you have some amazingly pretty golf courses in the States as well.

Zone envy.

This is what we can grow just above the 49th.

Winter gardening in the PSW is mindless fun. Plant in the fall and, presto, delicious beauties in the spring. And NO pests to bother with.

Happy Easter in Boomerland! I found my package of tiger lilly bulbs bought for a school fundraiser this morning, wondering if this would be a good time to plant them. All it said on the package was that they should bloom in summer. Google revealed to plant the bulbs now and that they're edible and are like potatoes!

What do you mean. Can't you see the sun (reflecting of the building opposite)?

I have two large windows in each of the 4 main rooms. That's a lot for Manhattan.

The other day my DH brought home a sour cherry tree that a co-worker gave to him. It is only about 2 feet tall now, but looks healthy and it's blooming . Now to find the ideal spot for it...

I wondered if you had flowers in those windows.
