Ilene - John would like to be removed from this Saturday's race. He will try to be there volunteering/cheering me on, but cannot race it. Still nursing his ankle injury.

I was going to ask to be removed from the Shamrock 5 miler this Saturday, but I see my psychic friend Tamster has beat me to it. (How does she do it??

) I think she's stalking me.

I've done something to my ankle, took a couple of days off, ran yesterday and this morning it hurt worse than before.

Thanks for the good work you do here and BTW, love your avatar.

My psychosomatic friend and I are looking forward to "Wayne's Revenge" on April 14th in Traverse City. It's a nice little 5 miler up and down a hill. The hill isn't so long by local standards. It is a bit steep though and the view at the top is breath taking. It's up "Wayne" hill and that's where the race got it's name. AT first I thought is was when Bruce Wayne got even with Robin for snagging his new tights. I was mistaken.

Hi Ilene,

I have to pull out of the Reach the Border Half on 3/25. I'm dealing with (according to the doc) either a tendon strain, the beginnings of a hernia, or some arthritis in my lower hip. We took some x-rays a few days ago to see if we can eliminate the arthritis, and I'm waiting for the results. My training has come to almost a complete halt, and I'm not particularly happy. If I can get some good attitude back, I'll probably volunteer at the race.

Hey Ilene,

Can you add me to the April 7th list for the Mt. Penn Mud Fest 15k trail race? With today's snow and sleet, the course should be in prime mud fest form.

Coastwalker, take care of yourself. Been on the disabled list a few times myself. Though we accept it at times, we make the best of the situation. And sometimes we find an additional calling.

Hi Ilene, can you add me to the thread? I have several races to add this summer, and since our season will soon be "under way" I guess I should throw them out there:

May 5 - Chena River Run 5k Fairbanks Alaska
June 2 - 2 Way Torture Test 13.1 team event, Fairbanks Alaska (still need a partner, any takers??)
June 23 - Midnight Sun Run 10k Fairbanks Alaska (10 pm start time)
June 18 - Flint Hills Mile Race Fairbanks Alaska
July 7 - Santa Claus Half Marathon North Pole Alaska
July 22 Gold Discovery Run (16.5 miles of major hills in gold mining country) Fox Alaska
August 5 - GCI 8k Run, Fairbanks Alaska
August 19 - Humpy's Marathon, Anchorage Alaska
September 15 - Equinox Marathon, Fairbanks Alaska

There may be a couple of miscellaneous 5k races/fun runs thrown in there too, but that should be about it for my season! Thanks!
