Egret,

I'm beginning to think you have something against me. First I find you in my pond looking for breakfast, then you skip me in the 40/40 club!

Especially when I qualify for the first time since August.

Last week
M - 6
T - rest
W - 9 with 5 tempo
T - 6
F - rest
S - 6
Su - 15

Total 42

This week's plan (about the same)

M - 6
T - rest
W - 9 with 5 tempo
T - 6
F - rest
S - 13-14
Su - 6 ( and possibly a marathon on the bike)

Total 40-41

Thanks E. Just bad planning on my part. Next time I need to make sure I eat something before a long run.

Here is the plan for this week.

M - rest
T - work late miss run
W - 5 miles easy
T - 6.67 indoor track + TM tempo intervals 3 x 10 min @ 7% incline
F - no time to run
S - 33.5 miles
S - 5.87 recovery

total = 51.04

Not a bad week although I was frustrated that work got in the way and I missed a couple of runs.

good running all

edited to correct my weekly total. I tried to add in one of the runs I missed.

Late, late, late but here's the plan and what I've done. As usual, I haven't run according to plan.

M - 7 unplanned pass day

T - 7 8 sluggish

W - 9 w/ 3 x 2 @ MP - 7 sluggish

Th - 12 12 w 3x2@ MP, finally a good run this week!

F - 0 had hoped to make up for Monday's pass; looking like zilch again

S - 19-21, last 20-miler; officially taper time! woohoo! 20 done and I have the sore foot to prove it

Sun - 8 recovery done

Total planned: 61-63
Realistically looking like: 55

55 and I'm officially tapering.

Thanks Egret for keeping this going this month.

This week looks like a big jump, but it's mainly because I switched around long-run days last week, so there are 2 quasi-long runs this week. Next week will be mid-60s.

M: 6mi (8:11)
T: 17mi (7:49)
W: 6mi (8:13)
R: 8mi (8:28), ok, it's catching up with me
F: 7mi (8:09)
Sa: 9.86mi incl "5K" (3.21mi) race - 20:05, 1OA
Su: 16mi (8:26), yes I am tired now

total: 69.9 miles

A white wine toast to you for this thread, Egret--thanks.

Slight step-back week mainly due to five days of running instead of six. I struggled with the tempo run but felt good later in the week.

M -- rest
Tu -- 7 w/ 3@tempo: 6:28, 7:00, 7:01, bail
W -- rest
Th -- 5 @ 8:45
F -- 8 @ 7:04
Sa -- 5 @ 8:45 w/ 5x100m strides
Su -- 15 @ 7:51

Total: 40

the difference between a 'bad' day and a 'good' day...to an ultra runner...

Nice VLR, Tim!

and so happy to see PDR reappear-woohoo!!

I'll be back before you know it. I ran 5 yesterday and 7 today. Methinks it'll be 2 weeks or so before I traverse the minimum hurdle, but I can see the light at the end of the tunner...
