Day number 2 . .. . 6 miles. A few sightings along the way.

1. Hugh flock of turkey's. Must have been 10 or 12 of them.

2. Tall, thin, handsome runner with fuel belt on blew by me like I was standing still.

3. 2 worms sunning themselves.

4. One black squirrel.

Roch - I'd be more worried about "biker butt" than biker legs hurting you.

GO HOLLY!!!

Cheers!
~Mary

Peter NC I did a double take when I saw Forsythia! Those really mean spring, ours won't be out for quite some time yet. Our parkways are lined with them.

40 minutes run for me done, laundry now, weight training later.
Looking forward to Holly's RR and everyone else's this weekend.

7 miles easy out in the crisp NE air...41 degrees caused the hat and gloves to come out of hibernation but I still wore shorts...

Fleet feet to the racers!

Holly's well on the way to a great run, I'm sure.

10 miles for me this morning @ 8:49 pace. Since it was a short run today, I slept in a little late and paid for it with warm temps (60F). In the winter, I'm fine without water on 10 milers but I haven't acclimated to this warmer weather yet; I could have used some hydration along the way.

Building door jambs and hanging doors today. Woo hoo.

4 mile recovery run after 5k race yesterday in 35 minutes at 1/2% incline on my fav. tm
Felt rather sproinky for a rr so I pushed it the last mile.
Maybe cause I was thinking of Holly most of the time. Hope all is well in Hollyland and it takes a couple of months to get the smile off her face. newly minted Marathoner!

Greta runs and races out there and enjoy your sunday.

WooHoo --- GO HOLLY!!!

Perchcreek -- sorry you are going through the PF thing. Lots of healing prayers going up for you.

Rest day for me, but I'm seriously thinking about doing the Duke Trail (3 mi.) since the weather is so beautiful. Of course, it will have to wait until I get the house clean (yuck)!

Good luck perch, I hope no baling wire and duct tape will be required.
Heckuva workout yesterday, tall. Looking great for Boston. Very inspiring to see the Boston runners getting in their last big workouts before taper time starts tomorrow.

Beautiful morning for a run here... 15 miles at 7:51 pace, the world still cool and moist from an early morning spring rain shower. I wore my fuel belt for the first time in months and blew by some lady who was counting turkeys.

Out before sunrise this morning to get in 20 M on a rails-to-trails surface (a little soggy from recent rains, with lots of debris from an ice storm a couple weeks ago). Temp in the 60's, but a fair wind kept me pretty cool for the first half. My Garmin ran out of juice after 4 M, but total time indicated just over a 9 m/M average pace. It's been a good week, mileage-wise, but I'm ready to cut back next week. Volleyball this afternoon!

Go, Holly (and other racers today), go.

Perch, I hope the doc can get you through this PF. My PF a year ago took quite a while to heel (pun intended).

Good afternoon, everyone. I don't get to say "afternoon" often, huh?

You have a great doctor there, perchcreek -- you'll be ready.

Today was a beautiful day -- 47F when I started, and probably mid 50's when I finished. I was supposed to do 16 with 12 at MP, but I think I overdid it yesterday so my legs were tired, plus my neighborhood is pretty hilly and I should have given myself 5-10 seconds for that. After 6 miles at MP, I decided to slow down. I wanted to make sure I could finish the 16!

Anyway the tally is 6 miles at 7:50, within a total run of 16.1 miles in 2:10 (8:06/mi). I guess it wasn't too slow after all.

Go racers! You know who you are.

10 miles this morning at 10:30 average pace. It was a beautiful run - sunny and about 60F. Fortunately it was breezy enough to keep me cool.

Can't wait to hear how Holly's first marathon went.

Did anyone remind Holly to wear sunscreen? If her weather is anything like it is in this part of Ohio she is having a beautiful day. It is 60 and sunny now, high 40's when I started my run. I did 15 miles in 2:22:42 for a 9:30 pace. No gatorade or gu, just trying to burn some fat today. I was tempted to try a fast finish but I've already done a tempo run and a faster finish MLR this week, and I didn't want to burn out. I don't recover very quickly from speed (using the term speed very loosely). Have a greta day!

Sounds like winter is getting some of you down. Count me in. It was nice and warm yesterday morning and then 5 or 6 inches of the white stuff came down. So had to do my 2 hour run in the slush (argh.....argh...) Tired of this weather.
Then we finished up with a two hour spin...

Legs are tired after the last two hard days.
Would love a nap...but doubt that will happen.maybe some more basketball...

Take care
