Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
A great weekend for the Beantowners. PBJ--zoiks. rbb--yowza. Robin--woot! busiman, wish I could be there again too--I loved how the Wellesley girls broke into cheers for us last year. emcee, you sly dog, looks to me like you're after more than a fun run. Here is what will happen: at 9:55, you'll be standing in corral #2 with a bunch of lean, fast-looking people who ran just as fast as you to get there. There will be media helicopters thumping overhead. The F14's will roar by. You will start to get ideas. The first mile is downhill. You will run it in 6:45 and it will feel like 8:45. You will say, hmmm, and take it from there.

Going up to 75F here today. I ran 5 recovery miles early to beat the heat.

Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
It's a day off today for me. I ran an easy 6 miles yesterday in the beautiful weather. Today is kind of cloudy and cold so I'm thankful to have the day off. Congrats to everyone who had good long runs yesterday. I'm in awe of rbb's run. If you run that fast when you feel carpy, I can't imagine how fast you will be running after a nice taper. Excellent runs for PBJ and Robin too. Robin, I'm glad your run turned out to be a good one - had a feeling it would. I'm really looking forward to tracking everyone at Boston this year.

Holly, I'll echo everyone else - take it easy!

Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
4 miles this morning with 4 intervals of 3 minutes at 10k pace.

There is no way I would have gone running the day after my first marathon. Going down stairs was the very painful. I did however walk more than a couple miles since I was in Las Vegas and did some sightseeing. Some of it even the afternoon of the race. I was just one of many people limping around with their marathon shirt on.

Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
Good morning, everyone.

Normally a rest day, I ran a recovery run with PDR and DD1's future MIL -- that was fun!

5.2 miles in 49:20 (9:40/mi) -- Magic Healing Miles.

Hey, I didn't run as far as Holly! Yes, I too was crippled after my first marathon -- you sound pretty strong.

Playing hooky from work today with the family in. Decided to brew some beer, a "special bitter".

Have a great day.

Holly,
You are one tough nut! I walked down stairs backwards for days after my marathon.
That poor guy with the bleeding nipples...you only do that once...he must have been a novice...that hurts so much!!!

You should consider getting a Garmin 305, i think you'd love it and you certainly have earned it!

All the talk of Boston is making me envious (and I live only 50 miles south).

Nice runs today so far. Off to the gym with DW after work.
Will post later.

^ Bounded through a sproink-filled four-miler. Very Tiggerlike. Must have been the combo of gnu shoos and bare legs. Vivigorating !

Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
Hopefully you get back on your foot soon perchcreek.

Did anyone notice if Holly was wearing a cape in her picture?? Tough cookie there. Hope DS is feeling better soon.

May the PDR and RWB extended families have many joyous miles together.

I'm still very freaking high after yesterday's outting with DS. We went over 12.5 miles together. Him on the bike and me on foot. And reading all the race reports from the weekend, I set out for 17 miles today. It wound up being 13.25 really enjoyable miles. 67F, strong wind. My legs were feeling less than sproinky at mile 11 so the run got cut short. 2:30:51. The time is improving and it doesn't feel like I'm working harder.
I need to pick up some glide. It looks like I've got rug burn on my inner thighs and I'm not sure if Mrs. P would find my explination believable. If any one has read other post, you understand.

4.40 in 45 minutes throughout the neighborhood. I know I should not be running 2 days in a row yet, but I can't help it--so glad to be able to get out there.
Like many of you, the day after my first marathon I woke up and said to DH "Would you rather push me out the window or throw me down the stairs? I have to get downstairs and it's gonna hurt either way--if you push me it will just be faster!" Last Monday in March--enjoy your day! glidegal

Re: Mon Boomer Runs 3/26
6 miles in 48:13 at 6:00am this morning. Legs were dead from yesterday's "marathon" - 26.2 miles on a bike in 20-30 mph headwinds along the Jersey Shore. If DaveinAA and MarkGuy remember last years conditions on Belle Isle, think of running in those conditions for the entire race. I did get a chance to meet rasmussenmp and runrwife.

Holly - I can't believe you did 6 miles the day after your first marathon. I spent the first 3 days after mine attempting to walk around the block. Take some well deserved rest!

Enjoy your day everyone.
