Fri 3/30 Boomer Runs

Good morning, boomers!

Out early for a brisk 12.1 medium long run, 1:41 (8:19/mi).

So what's all this about March going out like a lamb? It was 30F when I went out at 4:15 and 27 when I got back at about 6:00. Looking for some shorts and singlet weather.

I'm a real turkey -- missed all the sandwich fun last night, so I couldn't ham it up. Don't roast me -- what's your beef? Cheese! (Ok, I'm no DaveinAA, I know)

Have a great day! Go racers!

7.04 easy miles in 1:10:32, 10:02 pace.

Tomorrow is a cross-training day and Sunday is the Cherry Blossom 10-mile in DC.

Rumor has it there may be a small Boomer encounter.

Good luck this weekend! Temps should rise to lambish 60 degrees later today. Maybe you could get the singlet out an run around the block?

Day off today. Yoga and that new ball thing for me.

Re: Fri 3/30 Boomer Runs
After the Intervals yesterday, a recovery run was in order. 5 miles at 9:39 min/mile pace. My usual steamy weather is returning.

What's this about sandwich fun last night? I guess I better go read pages 4 and 5 of yesterday's thread ...

Bill

Re: Fri 3/30 Boomer Runs
Planned rest day for me, which works out perfectly on top of the unscheduled rest day yesterday. Dare I say it, but my head feels just a wee bit less chock-a-block congested, and my voice is beginning to return, albeit still husky. I may be able to take an EZ run tomorrow, but for today I'll just make do with reading about everyone else's run...

Good Morning Boomers!

5.5 easy-paced miles in 46 degrees. For some reason I woke up with a queasy stomach (maybe it was all those sandwiches on the daily last night), but my legs were almost sproinky. Only a mild complaint from my pinky toe.

Good luck to the weekend racers!

Re: Fri 3/30 Boomer Runs
Well, I had good intentions of running this morning, and am actually sitting here in my running garb, but the overnight thunderstorms are still hanging around and it looks like it could keep drizzling out there for a while yet, so I guess I'll hang it up and get on the road a bit earlier.

I had no idea until I went to downtown Iowa City last evening that this was the home of the U of Iowa. The university is basically integrated into the town, and it reminded me a lot of downtown Ann Arbor -- students everywhere, lots of good restaurants, bookstores, and no place to park! I think if I ever moved somewhere else in retirement, that we'd look to be near a "college town" just for the culture, entertainment, and upbeat atmosphere.

I hope to get in at least one good run on this trip to make taking my gear bag along worth the space it takes up.

Yoga and a long car ride for me today

Beer and a deli party platter - why not?
Good luck Predawn and all other racers!

Roch - I imagine Madison is the same. If it isn't, please don't tell me - I love college towns.

Stopped off for a light workout on the way home. Elliptical, rowing machine, pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups. Taking it easy before the Saga Half-Marathon this Sunday. Forecast is calling for rain but I have my fingers crossed. Good runs to all today.

Ok, this is just wrong. Eleven posts about daily runs before 8:00 a.m.

I will be going out today to try and beat the rain that's coming in to flood my trails again.

Have a good day everyone! TC

Haven't run yet but I have to comment on the 'small boomer reunion' at the Cherry Blossom race on Sunday. Marj, runningindc, and I have 'organized' a meeting of Boomers at the Marriott Gateway (the Expo hotel) at 4:30 on Saturday to get together and, perhaps, go out for dinner.

Soos -- just noticed the shout out the other day. Have decided until work slows down to post mileage on the weekly; + lots of things going on with the boomers, so trying to stay low-key. Hope you are healing well -- knee holding up ok? Really hoping you have fun in beantown -- along with all of the sooper boomers here! Stay healthy, everyone! cj
