popping noises :-)

I have been running for about 3 months, getting ready for VaBch RNR. Lately after (usually more than an hour or so) after I get done running. I will get up from my desk and there will be a loud popping from the front mid to lower part of my right leg and in and around my ankle. Am i just not streching enough. I do also cool downs. there is no pain associated just "snappy".
Maybe some WD-40 :-)

Re: popping noises :-)
my foot makes a cracking noise in the morning but I have not heard any popping come from my leg area. My wife's knees also make a cracking noise. If there is no pain I don't worry about it.

Re: popping noises :-)
My ankles both pop and crack pretty much all day long, doc says if it doesn't hurt dont worry about it. Another doc told me that if you exercise a lot and your joint tighten up, they may misalign a little bit when you are resting and when you move from the desk or chair or whatever, your joints will pull themselves back into place creating that popping noise.

Re: popping noises :-)
try going barefoot an hour or two per day. that really helps my feet and ankles get all the bones aligned, which seems to be the source of my "popping". at least your coworkers know you're coming! see you at the RNR half...
