Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
Holly, it's diabolical sabotage. gremlins. we need a hero. Maybe DH & Sgt. Pellegrino (sp?) will help us.

too bad-- I was thinking that maybe that brisk 2 mile walk might tip the scales (HA) on this whole weight thing. maybe the up a bit is food et but not yet , umm, processed.

I love Star's ice cube too. & her wavey thing. Star, when's the wedding? (or was it already?) Your dress is beautiful.

Erika, yay. You're welcome... I hate cold, long ago got to where I felt like I couldn't stand it. & yours has been endless.
what are those long days like?

I'm hungry too. ( ...hunger is our friend ) part of my gain this week should go away, but 2.5 lbs will still be a challenge.

doesn't chocolate sound good?

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
I'm down another pound. I figured out the key. I don't eat anymore. Ha, right. I am seriously cutting back on dinner and wine. Had a glass last night and that was it. It was yummy, but I had water after that. I went to bed kind of hungry. Did 5.5 miles of tempo with faster intervals (on the treadmill cuz it's so slushy outside!) and then upper body weights. Haven't done that in awhile. Then had to go get boy from soccer practice and stop at the store, get gas, etc. By the time we got home, I heated up some leftovers, did some laundry and cleaned up a bit, then went to bed. Realized I was hungry, and thought oh well. I'm sure it's temporary, but I'll take it!

Holly, there is no justice. Just like before when I thought I was not over-eating and I was running 44 mpw, I gained 6 lbs?? Can't be true. Your rewards are coming, it's just not a smooth trip.

Debbie, long days are wonderful. Starting next month we'll be light in the early a.m. and well into the evening. By the end of May through mid-July, it gets like twilight in the middle of the night but not dark. It's so cool, but turns everyone into nightowls! Our golf course does 24 hour golf in the summer and my DH has had his share of 2 a.m. tee times! Pretty wild. I can't wait. Our "Midnight Sun Run 10K" is on June 23, starts at 10 pm and the sun is still up.

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
Hi Guys, I'm bad very bad. I avoided the thread for a week or so because I was afraid to get on the scale and see that I was gaining or stabilizing. But then today got the courage up to get on it, wet swim suit and all. I'm down to 126.5. I feel good but bad at the same time. I'll take myself out back and beat myself a little later.

<<<<A good music player makes a HUGH difference>>>>

I hear ya Holly. Cant run without mine! I love it.

Congrats losers! Will be here to stick my nose in and support you all more in the future.

Laurie

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
well - i'm down 2lbs from my trip to Scotland, so that puts me even from when we started but 2lbs up from week 2 ....... i just ca't seem to stop the nibbling and it doesn't help that my b-day was last week and Easter is this week - so the chocolates in my house are out of control - maybe i could get hypnotized to not like chocolate?? HA!!

anyway - HAPPY EASTER to all who celebrate and may the easter bunny bring negative calorie chocolate to all!!

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
As of a few days ago, I was down 3 pounds. But I attended a baby shower yesterday with no-so-good choices in foods to choose from. I still did pretty good calorie wise. What I didn't do was good sodium-wise, so I have a 2 pound gain today. I really don't think it's a gain, so I'll hold off with my official reporting until the end of the pact. I think I'll be close to the 5 pounds in 5 weeks if I keep it up until the end. I'll try anyway.

I'll probably be in WP #2 as well! Onward and downward!

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
Oh dear, my numbers aren't good.

Let's say I started at 133.5. Last Thursday I was 130.5. This Thursday I was 132. But I'm not giving up.

Am I wrong, or does running make it harder to lose weight somehow? I'm looking for excuses here, help me out.

Congratulations to all you losers. I'm going to be with you next week.

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
Just thought I'd throw this idea in here. DD2 lost about 10 lbs when she became a vegetarian. I lost about the same when I switched from martial arts to triathlon. Oh and I stopped drinking about the same time. But I do like the just stop eating idea too. LOL.

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
I weighed at the gym this a.m. and didn't quite make the 5 lbs goal. I did hit a 4 lb loss though. I'll allow indulgences tomorrow and then I'm back to my no sugar. I won't completely go no sugar though - just during the week and then I'll let myself have a treat or two on the wknds. Hopefully I can control it at just the weekends and not go back to eating something sugary everyday like I was. I really felt so much better by not having sugar, so I want to hang on to that feeling.

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
Just got back from a business road trip, and I usually gain weight when I do these. This time was no exception, and it looks like I'm up 2 lbs (remember, I'm trying to gain weight) to 157. I'm good with this.

Re: Weightloss Pact - Week 4
We didn't renew our membership yet at the Y, so I have no scale to weigh myself on.

I'm temporarily out of commission.

Hopefully I'll get re-signed this week while my wife and kids are on school vacation, and I can get a final weigh-in.
