Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs

Morning Boomers
Just time for a quickie, like the run a 3 miler, same as yesterday but no time to post it. Out with the boss again, she set the pace, I was wearing the garmin, and it turned out faster than my normal pace
She now wants to go to a proper running shop to get fitted for shoes

Anyway, 3 m 32:05 @ 10:42 pace AHR 140 67%
It's great really
Good Runs To All

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
An easy 6 miles at 9:14 minute per mile pace. Avg. HR 140, 70 degrees 87% humudity.

My previous run was Sunday as I decided to give me toe a break for a few days. I think MustangSally (gotta love that handle!) pegged it right when she suggested shoes may be causing some slight nerve damage. I do feel a tingling in the area often. So we'll be buying new shoes this weekend - both running and dress. It might be a pair of my dress shoes doing it actually!

11.5 miles through a splattering of worms and a smattering of big, hairy snowflakes. What's up with that?

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
Good Morning Boomers!

Roy ? it?s definitely time for Mrs. Roy to get good shoes.

Breger ? hope the new shoes help the toe problem.

I got up at 4:30 today and had my coffee before my run; therefore my outlook on life was greatly improved.

30(feels like 19) degrees today, with 20-30mph winds. After a 2 mile brisk walk with my husband, I ran 7.4 miles. We have a steep hill in our neighborhood, about ¼ mile long, and I jogged down and sprinted up this hill 8 times during my run.

Okay, maybe I?m using the term ?sprint? loosely here. I suppose it may have been more like ?staggered up, gasping and clawing at my chest.? Okay, maybe not quite that bad. Only on the last one.

I told my husband, during our walk, ?This is rare that we get out without the kids around. Maybe we can get to know each other again on these walks?.What was your name again??

Happy Thursday!

Morning Boomers!

Thanks for the kickoff Roy! Hope Mrs. Roy finds the perfect running shoe.

Bill - additional wishes for you and the perfect shoe hunt. Take care of that toe!

PBJ - that white stuff is coming down here as well. I'm really not going to miss Lake Michigan and the lake effect snow.

Holly - glad you got your coffee before your run this morning - you needed with the wind chill factor you were working with. Good workout!

An easy 4.5 miles for me this morning followed by upper body weights.

Good runs to all!

Cold and windy (but not dark!) here. 4.6 miles in 42 minutes this morning. Good thing I didn't pack my gloves and hat away.

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
morning boomers :-)

lots of yoga & a little callanetics this morning.

good job, MarkGuy, cold & windy!

Bill I hope your shoes help.

Roy, I think you meant "fitted for shoes "

glad it worked this morning Holly. ugh hills. how steep? I am wondering how much of a wimp I am. had to do 16% incline on a TM yesterday & didn't like it.

PBJ,

Sue, do you have our weather too?

hi everybody else.

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
Lynden, congrats to your daughter on her state championship. Roch, it's nice to have you back in MI and running in our (hopefully) "last gasp of winter". Evan, congrats to your son on making the soccer team. Holly, you sure have a lot of energy and determination as evidenced by the schedule you set for yourself and in encouraging your husband and kids. Just make sure you don't wear yourself out to the point of getting sick. Good luck with keeping the family running (or walking). dg9, you mentioned running on the TM at 16% incline. That is one heck of a hill. Congratulations on being so tough. Roy, your wife continues to do well. It sounds like she is deserving of those new shoes.

Nice long runs for pt, smpankowski, DH, WRFB, Robin (and recovered from sinus problems), PDR, SansSouci, Flying, pt (another one and a wet one at that), PBJ, and robp. Good job on the speedwork for Ilene, mc, mrbill, bap, choover, and Holly (hill sprints).

This morning, the Michigan weather reported by several others is in evidence (too much from my point of view) here in Kingston. It was about 20 degrees with a decent wind and a light covering of snow on the roads. I did 5 miles in a little under 46:30 for a 9:13 pace.

A good day and good runs for all.

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
Roads were a bit treacherous in my neck of the woods - glad I wasn't running on them. As it was I almost did a full donut on the on-ramp of the highway. Got my heartrate going I tell ya!

150 crunches
20 pushups
Maybe a run later on.

What does an easy 5 mi at that pace actually feel like? Pretty fast to me!

Re: Thurs 4/5 Boomer Runs
Great runs all.

Holly, glad to hear DH is hanging in there. DW and I walk most mornings and I concur with the relationship benefits.
Nice hill sprints.

I'm still in recovery mode thinking about an EZ3Z this PM.
