Friday April 5 Boomer Runs

Good morning, boomers!

Crisp was the word for the morning -- 34F and 12 mph winds. And I was just getting used to running in shorts and short sleeve shirts.

The Pfitz plan called for a relatively short easy run today -- 4.1 miles with 6x100m striders. The striders really pulled the total pace down, but the rest of the run was at about 8:20 pace, so I'm still calling it "easy". For the 4.1 it was 33:03 (8:00/mi).

Have a great weekend -- go racers!

Re: Friday April 5 Boomer Runs
Interval Day today. 5x(0.6 mile fast, 0.25 mile recovery), with warm up and cool down for a total of 7 miles.

Here are the paces for today, and the last time I ran this workout on 3/9:

1: 8:27 (8:31)
2: 8:06 (8:29)
3: 8:26 (8:28)
4: 7:55 (8:53)
5: 8:55 (8:37)
average: 8:21 (8:35)

kind of fell apart on that last one, which was mostly uphill.

Good runs everyone - and good luck to our weekend racers.

Re: Friday April 5 Boomer Runs
Nice paces there PDR, especially those 2nd and 4th repeats. Lookin' good! I think that 4th fast interval made the last one really tough.

5 easy toe-exploratory miles at 9:06 minute/mile pace. The top of my right big toe definitely does not like running right now but it's not to the point where it makes me stop or even slow down.

I'll give it another week or so of low mileage and decide from there whether to have it checked out.

Bill

Good Morning Boomers!

Nice intervals for the Beers!

{{{Breger?s toe}}}

Runwun ? good luck tomorrow!

2 mile brisk walk with hubby in 26(feels like 19) degrees, followed by:

175 crunches and oblique v-ups
45 military presses
45 bent rows
45 push-ups
45 supermans
60 weighted duck squats
60 weighted squats
60 lunges on each leg
3 chin-ups (1 after each set)

I have to think up some clues today for my Easter egg hunt. I hide plastic eggs around the house Saturday night. Most of them are filled with candy, but some of them have clues inside, which lead to other hidden eggs that contain half-dollars. I?ve got 18 half-dollars and 60-70 eggs to hide in a house that has less than 1000 sq.ft., so I have to get imaginative.

Happy Friday!

Morning Boomers
Nice runs today, speedwork for Lou & PDR (Lou that pace is fast to me) Nice 5 miler for Bill and Runwun on the taper mill.

We went out for a 5 miler and it was her first undulating run. I said do you think this is hilly, she said yes, I said it's undulating. Mrs Roy said my breasts are undulating, this is hilly I was shocked.
Anyway 5m 57:27 @ 11:29 pace AHR 143 69%
She would go mad if she read this
Good Runs & Races All
Roy

PS: It's sunny here, into the 60's along the valley.
PPS: Holly, that was a brisk walk and good work out, Ya

Morning Boomers!

Good workouts already this morning!

Still cold, snowy and windy here, so my 6.25 miles were on the treadmill. Doesn't look like the weekend is going to get much better - 3 to 7 inches predicted for our area. Where did spring and summer go? Did I miss them? Is this a bad dream?

We're getting ready to go into relocation mode - house inspections, market analyses, etc. etc. I think this is going to be detrimental to my running schedule.

Good runs to all and best of luck to our weekend racers!

Re: Friday April 5 Boomer Runs
Good morning and good runs to all.

A nice brisk morning today--26F with 15-20 MPH spring breezes, so the full winter regalia came out once again. 3.2M (basic lake loop) in 30 minutes. Still a hard time stretching that distance.

And a very pleasant surprise at work this morning--we all got called into the conference room and the owners announced that we had done really well last year and they would be able to make a second distribution of our profit sharing plan. So an unexpected and very welcome bonus. Great way to go into the weekend. I envision new running shoes (I hope)

Great intervals predawnrunner, you are improving so well and running consistently.
roy c, thanks for sharing your wife undulations.

Early posting a late work out; last night ran 6.22 miles under evening cloud cover with the fast crew. Mr. Forward ran 7 miles much faster than I.

Later we cooked up some tortellini and a garlic basil sauce and had a glass of cabernet sauvignon.

Re: Friday April 5 Boomer Runs
Resting today - but I went out for a dinner burning 3.5 mile run last night. Felt down right balmy after the awful cold/windy/snowy run of Wednesday night.

Holly - I made my kids (19 and 20) stick around and decorate eggs with me last night. I think they enjoyed it - if nothing else they enjoyed giving me a hard time about doing it! Good luck with the hiding. Does MRHolly do the awesome workout with you too?

Nice runs out there already today!

Cheers!

43 F. It's still Spring here. 5 easy miles, 1/2 mile barefoot.

When I got back from my run, my daughter stopped to chat with me. A bit later I overheard her tell my wife, "Don't go near Dad. He smells like his running clothes."

Good luck to the weekend racers!

Duck squats ? feet planted wide apart, toes pointing outward, dumbbells or barbell on hips (I use 2 15-lb dumbbells). Dip down into squat, until thighs are almost parallel with floor, hold, then rise.

Hopeful ? no, Mr. Holly does not do the exercise routine, just the walk. I?m not going to push it?

Kameele ? Kewl Beans!

un·du·late: 1. to move with a sinuous or wavelike motion; display a smooth rising-and-falling or side-to-side alternation of movement.

I don?t think my breasts undulate when I run. More like bounce. My butt, on the other hand, probably undulates. Not exactly what I want it to do.
